Shiplate main lake open (mon)
Today I managed to book on the shiplate open which was full with 19 anglers. Venue regulars steve Howell and golly were in attendance as usual and the banter was top notch from the off. The lake fished a little hard the day before so was not expecting great weights a good draw would be needed.
I had lots of reachable island but with the levels down was not enough water there ππ for the 1st hour I've gone in gently just cad potting in a lil pellet and corn in spots across but with no bites thought I'd chuck the bomb to the far right of island near the rope. I had Pete sivel on 1 so good company and banter there and he said was time for a brew!!! So I poured one and the tips flown round nice scrappy for pounder. Then nothing. I fed a bit of worm and 4mm at top 6 so thought I would have a look on this 2nd drop and it's buried nice little skimmer 1 pound 2 oz I know this because this was the only fish off this line and my only silver. Pete in peg 1 was catching steady on the tip and I couldn't get a bite anywhere so I phoned titch because he was in the peg the day before and had a few he gave me some info and I did that re plumbed an area and went in on the paste fired some pellet in catty and it buried heading for Pete under the rope but I got it in eventually. Nice carp around 6 pound. But wind picked up a bit and weather went strange so struggled to present the bait over there properly now. Kept trying the edges but got ducked geesed and then the mother of all strange birds started having a bath and splash in my left margin and then proceeded to laugh at me bloody thing !!!!π‘π‘what am I gonna do bout 45 mins left and I've struggled all day I set up a small online gb feeder put some soaked 4mm and strawberry corn in with s corn on hook and chucked it to the far right again poured a brew and it's ripped round lovely Pete even give me a clap 20 mins left and it's gone again come on finish on high !!! Then I had to wait 5 mins left and re chucked saying pls go round pls go round the all out was called picked up the rod and there was fish on bargain thought it was fouled so played it gently but it was in the mouth lovely.
Didn't no what else had gone on but thought the whole lake had fished hard as Dominic Sullivan had chipped off early and I could hear some moaning from the left the scales reached me and firstly I asked how lee Phillips had done and steve Howell as we had a pound on it and those to were last seen sprinting to 14b and 15 ππ lee had 34 pound and steve had 20 well I've done steve so that's a pound cheers bud I said to carol il be close with lee and I was 32 pound twice he's done me at shiplate well done mate !! Jonny page also tipped back and made a sharp exit and give me a nugget ππ so I've came 5th out of 19 not too bad I feel my peg was worth more probably should of framed needed two more carp as 3rd had 42 pound Pete won the match with 107 pound I think well done to all and I nice day out thanks for reading until next time tight lines π£π£π£ππππππ

The glebe golden reel qualifier
Well set off at 530 am for this one linked up with the bait tech bagger tom downing on the m5 eventually!!
Got to the peg pretty much middle of the lake and yes that is a carp cruising. But he soon buggered off !!!so feeder to far bank and a bomb set up just in case. Pole line at 14.5 m in front with pellet on the deck and shallow. Had 2 edge lines one either side and a caster line at top 5. Felt quite crammed in had anglers either side and Andy power 2 pegs to the right !!! At the all in chucked the feeder out and then fed my pole lines
which you are allowed to do here strange π€!! But oh well crack on few chucks of the feeder and it's gone round only to wind in a bream around a pound (not what I was after) anyway back out and it went again better bream getting on for 3 pound but still not what I wanted when the pegs either side have a had a carp each. Gone out again and another good bream around 3 pound.then it went quite so went out on the long pole float buried gently back and a small carp 2 pound straight back out and another one then another come on I thought but as quick as it started it died just getting liners. So went shallow had another 3 fish then that died. So I kept pinging pellets long and fishing it there is a no slapping rule here also!!from the off I was feeding caster at top 5 by hand pretty constantly so thought I'd have a look on that started on the bottom but one bite saw me catch the smallest perch ever ππͺso went shallow no indications so went down right hand edge on the paste had 1 straight away thought hopefully we can have a few here !!!! Went down the left had one there all small fish tho none over 4 pound!!then no more indications down the edge.. so rest of the match went scratching around picking out odd fish of the lines. Think I've tried too much should of stayed on long pole as Andy power looked to be doing well on it. At the all out was quite glad it was over but struggled and I got battered by either side of me bloke to the left had 60 pound bloke to my right had 80 pound Andy p had 119 pound but the best weights were off the end pegs either end!!! So had a lil chat with mr power quizzing him a bit!! Tipped my nets back estimated 30 odd pound know where near enough. But I've had a nice day learning a bit for next time and getting about a bit worst part of the day giving tom downing a pound π and driving home. Back to some more local matches hopefully get the confidence back up may do some more qualifiers but may just leave them for this year we shall see!!!!
Weather looked nice sunshine bits of cloud and slight breeze. Got to the fishery and first job is dip the nets and once dipped you get a lil ticket to say you have dipped you cannot draw without doing what a great idea !!!
Lots of chat and dreaming of a flyer nice end peg would do. Top anglers there again local Preston master Andy power Jamie Hughes perry stone and many more!!!
Into the draw and I've pulled out 102 lake 7 fishery owner Roy marlow said it's a safe peg always a few there!!!
Thanks for reading hope everyone had a good one πππππ£π£π£π£

Avalon and summerlane
Well booked on to Avalon with jonny page to stand in for drop outs on the final round of there teams of 3.
So that's what I had to go at. Plan of attack was bomb and pellet to far bank and pellet wag if they came shallow and anything that swims rig at 13m ish and a couple of edge lines. At the all in fed my lines chucked the bomb out was getting the odd liner but no proper bites oh dear had a look on the wag nothing doin there oh dear again. My next door neighbour had two carp to the island and then went on his pole and started catching big skimmers I thought il have some of that 1st put in bumped one then couldn't get a bite on it. π«π«π«tried me edges nothing doin oh dear what am I gonna do. Took a step back and set up gb feeder chucked across and had the smallest carp I've ever seen at the venue I was lucky if it was 12 oz π‘π‘π‘. So stuck at that for a while nothing doing went back on pole at 13 m and had a skimmer again the smallest skimmer I've seen at the venue. Kept trying the edges gb feeder and pole lines to no avail what so ever. Looked like most people were struggling but people I could see all had more than me so I completely shit out!! The horn went I tipped my 2 huge fish back then proceeded to make one of the quickest exits in match fishing history. All out was at 4 I was in Tesco express buying cider at 5 !!! Was gonna get some rope but they didn't have any !!!!!πͺπͺhere's another picture of my fishless edge!!!
Oh yeah had to dish 2 pound coins out also to lee Williams and jonny page π‘πͺπ«π«.
Lovely chuck to the reeds on the method I fished from 330 to 730 the sport wasn't mental but enough I finished the evening with 8 fish for around 60 pound with 3 doubles and one of them a nice ghostie. Thank god for that I can still catch fish and no need for the rope !!! Next week I'm goin to the glebe for a 2nd attempt at golden reel can't wait looks like an awesome fishery. Thanks for reading tight lines π£π£π£ππππͺπͺππ
So rocked up late we were last in the draw and put me on peg 37 vic said u should have a few from there today.
So in huff all last night and this morning decided to have the afternoon down my local summerlane if I didn't catch here I was gonna take up golf or get a rope !!! Turned up and it was busy managed to get on peg 10

Golden reel qualifier larford lakes
Today was my first golden reel qualifier and 2nd visit to larford lakes. Was just hoping to draw on sum fish.
So in to pay the pools and see where everyone wants to draw. Seemed like either end of match lake and close end of specie no one wanted arena lake.
Lovely really fancied the peg. On arrival there were a few fish showing near the island and in my right hand margin. So plan was rig for the island with corn or pellet. A slapping rig for shallow half way. And margin rig either side.on the horn i through out a sprinkle of 4mm and big potted some gb and mags in the left margin. For the first 30 mins I was slapping the rig around and pinging a few pellets about to no avail so went on the bottom with 6mm expander where I'd been pinging float buried straight away nice lil skimmer but not what I needed topped up with the cad pot and had a small carp bout 2 pound lovely !!!
Was greeted with bright sunshine
So got called in to the draw quite early and pulled out 39 match lake
Went in again and not a lot was happening so decided to try my left margin 4 mags went on the hook it was in for 20 seconds then buried so I struck like lunatic for a 4 oz perch to come flying out the water poor lil fella he was ok though swam off into my keepnet in a sulk !! π right what to do next thought I would try long to the island so my ever faithful strawberry corn came out and a few in the cad pot squashed down with some pellet to stop them bouncing out had a liner straight away and then was in again to another small carp around 2 pound . Went over again and the wind picked up making presentation over there difficult. So went back on the expanders down the middle added 2 more skimmers and another small carp. Then that went quiet. Have a look down the right then strawberry corn and 4mms cad potted in and I was in straight away to a slightly better fish around 4 pound. Then had a run of 3 more smaller carp then foul hooked one and that line died. So from then on just kept rotating my lines for the rest of the day picking off odd fish nothing massive all carp between 2 and 4 pound nice days fish in the last 30 mins down the middle was solid with fish but was too late. I lost one just before the horn right at the net π‘π‘. People around me didn't seem to be catching much so thought I may have scraped a section at the scales I put 57.04 on which was a nice days fishing the bloke to my left did 27 pound and the bloke to my right dnw further round the bay to my left was 40 pound and opposite me did 59 pound for a section win not sure what section I was in but think my 10 peg section was won with 100 pound. But the match and specie lake had fished hard. With the top 5 weights coming from arena lake where no one wanted !!!! The winner had 200.03.all in all a nice day taking a pound of the bait tech bagger tom downing and rubbing shoulders with some of the best match anglers in the country like Andy power Jamie Hughes and perry stone. And not embarrassing my self π off to the glebe in two weeks to try again bring it on thanks for reading hope everyone had a great day until next time ππππ£π£π£ππππ€

Sedges 6th and final round
Well last round today weather looked good lets do it!!!
So plan was pellet over pellet at 10m and go further if needed. I put a worm and caster line in top 5 to the right. For company had Alvin jones again to my left so least we would have a laugh and up from him Nigel garret both good anglers. So at the all in I fed gb caster and chop worm to the right and went straight in at 10 m cad pot 4mm and micros and 4mm expander on the hook. Had bites straight away missed a couple dotted my float right down then didn't miss a thing then I caught steady for the first hour hardly feeding a thing had 8 small skimmers and a small tench and a small carp give me the run around Alvin was catching slower but better quality fish π’.so then the sun got going and like a switch there were carp every even slurping my float cruising right up to the keep net
they just didn't care I had to feed even less than I was already but it didn't matter what ever I did just had carp after carp after carp with the odd skimmer in between. So I thought I'd give the 10m a line a rest see if the carp would move away put a small worm head on went on the top 5 60 seconds float buried and am getting arm ache of a large carp I got it to the net and it came off was a proper munter getting on for 20pound !!!! So just picked away at my 10 m line. Had a good bit of banter with Alvin he was telling me I'm winning the section which I New I wasn't as Alvin fish were all over a pound nearer 2 and big tench he had !!!! Last hour went dead except for carp and was quite burnt by the end. The horn went and Jamie was round with the scales I had 34 skimmers and 1 tench for 18 pound Alvin has then put on 18.11. Cheers then 2 weeks on the trot he's bashed me up from next door !!!! FairPlay to him !!! I came 3rd in section only just beating Nigel garret. Shane pope from Weston had the best weight on tile lake 21 pound +. On to brick lake me mate Sam Johnson was filling in for Wayne he managed to win his section off peg 5 with 20 something pounds my other mate mark Thorne who had been in top form of late and has definitely worked out the silvers at sedges was sandwiched between jonny page and bob gullick tough section but FairPlay to the lad he smashed them both up winning the match again with 34 pound giving him 2nd overall in the series well done mate !!! Jamie parkhouse managed to draw in a section of 2 with him and ziggy and ended up winning the series. Herd ziggy got bored and started slapping for carp πππjonny page came 3rd overall Alvin jones 4th and Ron stark 5th well done to all. I had to give Sam Johnson mark Thorne and jonny page a nugget as they all beat me again. Il be back !!!!never mind hopefully il draw a peg with that many carp in next week where il be entering my first big money qualifier of the year golden reel at larford lakes . Hope every one had a good day thanks for readingπππππ£π£π£π£
Was just hoping for a nice days fishing today because I was out of the running for top 5 so no pressure.
Went in to the bucket of dreams pulled 22 tile looked ok but a bit Carpy for my liking!!

Sedges round 5 silvers
Well it was 5th round of sedges silvers series the weather looked like it would be nice if the wind stayed off but it was a cold night and north easterly winds. Right so it was all to play for today
I was sitting in 12th before today's results but it was joint 5th so all to play for needed a good result today to try and finish in the top 5.
Alvin next door was doin the same but think he landed a small skimmer and 40 mins in he's gone on the pole and it was solid in front of him first put in 2 pounder 2nd put in he's waving a 4 pounder at me saying look at this old dog !!!!! So I've gone in on mine had hardly any signs and struggled while next doors having one a chuck smaller skimmers ffs. So kept feeding trying my different lines hooking and losing odd carp then 1 o clock has a belting run of 3 small skimmers then nothing π‘π‘π‘ wasn't getting any signs so went out further kept trying different lines couldn't get a pull except from carp. Couldn't wait for it to end to be honest. It was a very uncomfortable day with cold wind in the face again!!!! But sunshine all day even got burnt
so at the scales I've weighed in 1 pound 3 oz for a nice last in section cheers !!!! To top it off me mucker mark Thorne won his section and jonny page so payed them the usual nugget and they are both now in contention for a top 3 finish well done lads.
Never mind on to the final round next week see if I can get some consolation section money or at worst case win me nuggets back of pagey and thorney. πππuntil next time hope everyone had a great day πππ£π£π£π£ππππ
Any way into the draw and I've pulled out peg 4 brick π«π«the cold wind was blowing in there and didn't look nice only bonus was 1 2 and 3 not In.for company on 5 had Alvin jones we a good chat and a bit of a laugh through the match. On the opposite bank could see jonny page and Jason fearn living the dream in t shirts πππ. For me the fishing was pour started on the tip 3 bites no fish and snapped hooklength from a carp
