Glebe golden reel

Well been looking forward to this since I booked on this match just fingers crossed for a good peg. Arrived in plenty of time so had wander round lakes 1 2 and 3 but the first few pegs on lake 1 looked solid with wind blowing in there. Fish crashing out everywhere!!! That would be nice 😃 so into the bag of dreams 86 end peg lake 6 
I hoped this peg would have wind blowing in and it did 😁😁 but ‘‘twas a bit muddy I got me trolley stuck on the way to the peg 😱😱 soon used brute force to get it out!!! 
So plan was gb feeder to far bank in a couple of spots with corn or pellet hook bait then bomb and pellet by the aireator caster shallow 4ft out from the left at top 7 and edge rig 13 m for corn over gb. At the all in I chucked the feeder across and before i sunk the line the northerner on next peg was in to one I thought Christ give me a chance pal 😂😂 any way first hour he put about 10 fish in net and I was struggling 😱😱😱 on 2 lil 2 pounders. Any way I’d been pinging in 8mm at the aireator periodically for an hour and I could now see a few fish moving there so straight in on that and I had a nice few hours putting a fair few fish in the net while next door was struggling.😎😎 I did lose a couple and foul hooking is a real problem there with the rules stating u must have 20 inches from feeder to hook 😱😱 I don’t know why this is and if it’s for fish safety I think it harms the fish as so many foul hookers anyway I’m not a fishery owner so must respect the rules rant over😂😂 meanwhile I’d been pinging casters all day decided to have a look over it but nothing doing on that 😡😡😡 look down edge foul hooked 2 landed 1 then nothing else there !!! Last hour struggled to put much more in the net and had a bit of a mare snapping my bomb rig 😂😂 then tangling feeder rig then the all In was called. In hindsight maybe I should of set wag up but the bites were pretty quick on tip !!!! Never mind I’ve had a lovely day loadsa fish shame they were all small really mostly 2 - 3 pounders but they scrap like trojans and I nearly had the rod pulled in a few times my northern friend was having a chuckle at me saying about my peace pipe😂😂we had a bit of banter when I could understand what he was saying 🤪🤪 onto the weighing which we the first 3 pegs had to do so started down the far end and he had 90 odd pound then there was a 60 and one chap had 44 pound of skimmers then there was 120 ish then me the dnws did catch but didn’t bother weighing as they were only paying sections today!!!

 The winner came from peg1 lake won with massive 270 pound so I herd but shot straight off after match so well done that man !!!!

I am just pleased to catch a few today get my mojo back. After a rubbish silvers series for me and a pour winter roll on some more mud pigs !!!! Thanks for reading hope everyone had a great weekend 🎣🎣🎣🎣

Sedges last rnd silvers

After last weeks woes hoped for a better day today was up bright and early and felt optimistic!!!!

Got to the fishery lil bit of sunshine and cloudy no wind wanted to draw on brick and got my wish peg 15 lovely for company had jonny page who was one of 10 in contention to win the series 

Further up was Jess Jordan we all had some good banter was quite happy with my peg as 16 was empty and I felt confident of a few.
At the all in fed a small helping of micros and expanders at 14.5 m and a small ball gb and mags at 10m chucked the gb feeder out triple maggot missed a bite straight away!!but jess was straight into fish on the pole then jonny page so I followed suit I had a lovely hour on the longline putting 3 proper skimmers in the net one small one and a cruician thought I was gonna empty it then it died really struggled to get a bite on anything rest of the day except carp 😱😱😱😱😱😡😡😡 so usual story at the moment for me I’ve had the worse winter yet fishing !!!! I weighed in 9.14 pagey had 14 then Jess had 24 pound and won the match. Well done. John fuidge won the series overall he’s been on fire lately well done mate. So was there any consolation not really I had a double or quits with matt Thomas for £4 or nothing just scraped that one had to pay nuggets to a few others tho as per usual and managed to get one off Shane Pope . Glad it’s over I’ve had a shocking series I just wanna forget. And if thing couldn’t get any worse I’m writing this from my broke down van on the way home waiting for aa who are saying someone will get me at 735 pm 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😱😱😱😱😱 goin Cyprus Wednesday hopefully come back refreshed and get my head back into my fishing !!!!!

Sedges rnd 4 brick lake

Well what can I say went out last night for food ended up not eating and drinking too much oh dear !!!

I was woken up with a phone call at 855 am by Wayne staples saying where are u ?? Bed I replied I said draw for me and I will pay when I get there so I then rushed around like a bear with sore head sorted myself out Mrs made me a peice of toast and a cuppa and off I went I had a tx from ron stark saying peg 10 🤔🤔 carp peg really but I felt confident for some reason god knows why 😂 anyway arrived at the fishery and ran over Jon fuidges pole roller but luckily it survived bit of banter and rocked up to my peg sun was out no wind in this corner and a banging headache!!! Set up the usual gb feeder and one pole rig to fish 2 spots at 14.5 m I was just 10mins late starting the match I fed my pole lines and chucked the tip out slurping my disgusting flask of tea wich tasted like washing up liquid 🤢🤢 3rd cast and rods flown round carp about 10 pound got bullied to the net🙈😡 rob dod on my right had a nice run of 3 skimmers and got me twitching a bit so went on my pole had one skimmer then nothing for about 2 hours I felt like death and my mouth was like Gandhi’s flip flop so went for a wander to see if anyone had any mints or anything but no such luck not a great deal was being caught either word was Jon fuidge was having a load on tile and Nigel Garret and Bob Gullick were having a few on brick but was slow for most after my lil walk I got back to my peg and added 3 more small skimmers to my net and then struggled again except from bites from large carp of which I landed 3 and lost one !!!!😡 come the last half hour I was struggling to keep my eyes open but I got threw it and thank fully the horn sounded. Another tough day great just hoped I’d beat a few pals for a nugget or 2 but that wasn’t to be either. Only bonus was not having to give one to Shane Pope who weighed in the same as me with massive 2.8lb last in my section. Another day over last one next week 🤞🤞 to draw on a load but I’m not holding my breath I’ve had a shocking series this year and hopefully I can forget it and move on. Earlier in the week due to weather and stuff I managed to sneak a couple of sessions down locking pit the first one I sussed it out ended with around 20 skimmers for about 10 pound was nice to see the float go under but on the second visit had a much better time landing 70 fish up to a pound for an estimated 35-40 pound mostly skimmers with a few roach and one small carp. So that’s it I’m off to bed now I won’t be getting hammered and fishing again the 2 don’t mix well 😂😂 thanks for reading no photos was Hard enough trying to fish 😂😂 hope everyone had a great weekend. 👍👍👍

Acorn open cost cutter

Well as it was my birthday yesterday my wonderful Mrs said she would pay my wages for the day so I could go fishing today so I wanted to go to acorn as don’t get to go there much as it is booked by a club every Sunday !!!!! On the way weather looked nice just fingers crossed for a good draw had a chat with the old boys that I didn’t know and everyone was most welcoming. Then 2 familiar faces rocked up tom thick and matt Thomas lovely so we had a good chat and decided on a 3 way pound then ray bazeley shouted us to draw so I went in first and pulled 15 I think that’ll do not where I wanted but beggars can’t be choosers!!! Then ray started shouting no no all back re draw re draw ooh I thought I got another chance to be on the island pegs 1 to 4 oh no not me pulled out possibly the worst peg of the day it was that bad that I’m not sure if it was 26 or 27 I’m sure someone will tell me ??? So it was it a bit choppy with wind coming right to left and it was freezing decided to dob bread across for first 30 mins first put in and it buried 8oz carp not what I was after but saved the blank!!!! Then the wind really got going and I struggled to hold the pole out there 😡😡😡 so I went dobbing down my left managed 1 stray fish down there carp between 1 and 2 pound so kept at it for a while with no joy and kept trying across. But no joy. So I cad potted a few maggots and some tom thick gb at top 7 towards the pipe in open water and had a nice run of 4 little roach then bites dried up there and the sun got up so I couldn’t see my float there or anywhere to my left 😱😱😱😱🤬🤬🤬🤬 so now I had know where to fish so I got off the box and grabbed the tip rod chucked it around a bit with a small hybrid feeder for not a sniff 😢😢😢😢 every now and then the wind would die down and by the time I got back out with the dobbing rig it picked back up and was near enough un fishable 😤😤😤😤 I did foul hook one more carp on the bread and lost it at the net 🤬🤬🤬🤬😡😡😡 and that was that I knew today wasn’t gonna be easy but didn’t expect that!!! But a bad day fishing was still better than a good day at work 😂😂😂 never mind and I had to give a pound to matt Thomas who had 15lb plus all on the tip he just pipped tom by a couple of pound I think I didn’t hang around 2o odd pound won the match and 7pound odd won the silvers . It was good to be out shame about the wind and was good to meet some new faces. Here’s the results

Sedges silvers rnd 2 tile again

Was dyeing to get out as not fished the last 2 weekends but by all accounts I haven’t missed much !!!

Any way weather looked ok not too cold or windy but it’s been up and down all week with a fair bit of rain earlier in the week. Anyway good bit of banter before the draw as per usual and then pushed in the que and drew peg 31 tile lake corner peg 😡😡😡😱😱😱 was not best pleased but all u can do is try your best.

For company had big Jason fern and next to him owner Jamie cook 🤔🤔 behind us mouth all mighty shane (show) pope so if nothing we would have a laugh 😂 Jason forgot his sidetray so lent him my mosella bag to use as one and at one point his top 3 just came off so without even saying a word I slid round and nudged it back to him with 13m of pole 😊😊anyway fishing was rock hard today first two hours I put 3 small skimmers in the net on gb feeder not a sniff on the pole early!!🤬🤬🤬 the middle 2 hours I really struggled putting nothing in the net was rotating my lines and changing baits for nothing. Lost one skimmer on the pole which has cost me a point or 2 but who knows !!!! I did land 3 more skimmers biggest one with 30 mins to go which probably doubled my weight hooked 3 carp during the day landed the last one after the whistle!!! I was telling Jason it was a big tench but more like hoping 😂😂😂 lost a few pound coins today Bob Gullick jonny page the shane show Wayne staples but took one off matt Thomas and Sam Johnson Tx me after he saw me put my last and biggest skimmer in the net saying that’s done me and he packed up and chipped off without coughing up😱😱😱😱😂😂😂😂so I weighed in a mighty 4.10lb Jason 6lb + then Jamie 5lb plus then Jerry Day 11oz+😂😂then 35 won are section with 7lb plus sorry don’t know his name 🤔 nice bloke had a little chat!!!! So that was that nothing I can do except take it on the chin keep smiling and I still give the banter and received a load 👊👊😂😂😂 was good to be out tho and hopefully that will be my dropper never mind always next week !!!! Sedges silvers series rnd 1

Not been out for 2 weekends and my last trip was a blankety blank so was gagging to get my string pulled!

Weather looked bang on for a few overcast slight ripple ssw wind. So rocked up about 830 in time for a quick brew and a bit of banter then into the bucket of dreams quite early and pulled 22 tile lake 🤔 didn’t fancy it too much especially with the winner from last year on my left and year before on my right 😱 oh well just get my head down and try get a few !!!

Plan was gb feeder with maggot hook bait gb mag line at 13m at 11 o clock pellet line at 1 o clock 13m line and a top 6 pellet line 👊. At the all in fed my pole lines and straight on the tip about 35 mins in not even a liner and Jamie park house to my left and bob guillick to my right went on the pole and pretty much straight away started getting bites so I followed suit. Tried the short line first with no joy then the mag line had a skimmer of about a pound thought lovely next drop bumped one 🤬 then had to wait for bites I had 3 more but they were getting smaller by the bite after cad potting too much killed my swim 😱 tried my other lines with no joy so around 130 now and I was proper struggling so tried the tip again poured a brew and bang tips gone round nice skimmer around the pound mark again lovely straight back out and just got rod on the rest and it was twitching again boom another lovely lil skimmer bob to my right was well ahead and getting consistent bites while Jamie was struggling so I carried on on the tip for a while but couldn’t get a bite so stuck on my gb mag line but couldn’t get a bite anywhere then out of knowhere float buried and elastic being stretched to the limit ‘‘twas a carp around the 10 pound mark hooked bang on clean under the pectoral fin 😂 I did get it in the end unfortunately carps don’t count in this league never mind with not much time left straight back out and I’ve had another skimmer which looked a good two pound only for it to come off at the net 🤬 some choice words came out of my mouth so undeterred I cad potted some gb and mags in and chucked the tip out it went round on the drop only for it to fall off 😭😭then nothing last few mins back on the mag line had a tiny skimmer and that was it 🤞🤞Jamie packed up early and tipped back a pound bargain so I wasn’t gonna be last in section bob looked to have walked the section so chucked the gear in the van and back to the weigh in bob put 11+ lb on the scales I put 5.14 on Jamie park house dnw and said he was gonna take up golf 😂😂 and me and bob gave him a load 😂 but he took it well👍 then the weights diminished down the section giving me 2nd in section quite happy with that from there really had to give bob a well deserved pound so I followed the weigh in to see how my other side bets had faired on arrival round the other side I was greeted by my old pal mark Thorne who asked what did u have I said 5.14 his reply was I got more than that. So we preceded to his weigh and mr clapp declares mark with 5.10 😂😂 so I then gave him a load 😂😂 don’t count your chickens pal xxx onto jonny page he was tearing his hair out with 1 pound odd and had to give me diver 😁😁 things were looking up had a nugget off matt Thomas and Wayne staples then Shane must of been black told me he had 11 pound so I told him must of been solid bet u could of walked across it😜😜 and give him a well earned nugget. So a good day was had and happy with 2nd from there best bait was double mag over tom thick gb mixed with a secret!!!! Fished a drennan as7 1g float to 0.11 mainline 0.10 bottom yellow hydro well done bob for the section rich Cole won the lake with 13 pound and Jon fuidge won brick with 29 pound 👍👍 roll on the next one hopefully weather will be kind. Psv emerald ruby

First match of the year and first match as a Psv member. The match was supposed to be on jade but on arrival I was told it would be ruby and emerald I was a bit worried about ruby because it’s had some maintenance recently and I wasn’t sure of the fish stocks but hey ho it’s emerald bound to get a few bites !!!!

Hoping for 1 of the 4 pegs on emerald drew 11 which was far bank of ruby 😡with an island to go at 13m but no space behind had to double break 😱😱 trees above so rod out of the question. To be honest it looked quite nice no wind sunshine island lovely but the second the all in was called an absolute freezing north easterly started howling towards me from left to right.

Anway I fed some lines and started short on maggots nothing mid way across nothing island nothing open water nothing😱😱😱😱 by this time hour in I was Baltic thought need a tea so managed to under arm lil hybrid feeder about 15m to the side of the island 12mins on the stopwatch tips gone round hit it and it came off 😭😭😭  and that was that really word was everyone on ruby was struggling but Alan Healy aka des shipp was getting a bite a chuck peg 4 emerald across on the bread. 

Then Chris zacacks next door came for a chat and steve burgess they had a skimmer and a roach between them so it was not looking good by this time my lips were turning blue so had to have a walk so thought I’d go see what a bite looked like and wandered to des Healy’s peg and he didn’t disappoint losing one and landing one while I was there oh that’s what a bite looks like 😂😂 there was a few blokes on jade watched one bloke for a minute or two and he was getting a bite a chuck but losing most of the fish shipping back like a snail and didn’t look like he was using elastic 😂😂 bump 😂 each to there own he was doing better than me back to my peg dobbed some bread around nothing cad potted micros sat on it nothing chucked feeder nothing sod it I can’t go on 😤🤔🤔 packed up with an hour to go paid my nuggets to chris and steve and there’s a double or quits with big Ryan to look forward to 😡😡 welcome to the Psv club 😂😂 so blankety blank hopefully that will be my worst match of the year and I can’t remember the last time I actually caught nothing!!! Herd on leaving des Healy finished with 14 carp and some bits and bobs I’m sure someone will post on the Psv fb page never mind on to the next gotta take the rough with the smooth sorry for boring you with my poor day but I gotta post the bad ones too !!!
