Summerlane/locking pit knock up

The match was scheduled for the river but unfortunately the Weston club struggle to get numbers for matches on the river these days!!!! So I came up with the idea of having a silvers only knock up on summerlane/locking pit capped at 15 so there was room for pleasure anglers 😁😁 anyway the knock up filled up within an hour of putting the word. So day before I went and put some peg numbers on locking pit and the scene was set I didn’t really care where I drew but I did fancy the pit for a win!!!! Into the draw late and I pulled peg 2 summerlane it’s a great silvers peg with good history of silvers wins from it but I never do any good off it but with Ron stark on 7 my favourite silvers peg thought I would have my work cut out !!!!
Plan was method feeder short maggot line worm caster and gb at 11m straight in front and micros and expanders same length but at 2 o clock first hour went on tip had 2 skimmers but not the proper ones I was after so had a look on the short maggot line only catching tiny roach moved to 11m and started catching small skimmers but as soon as the sun came over the bushes dazzling my peg the skimmers just buggered off with most people struggling now I decided to get my head down and get a few roach short which helped me out quite a lot but I could see a martin hale getting the odd skimmer on the tip but it was boring waiting for them so I rotated my lines most of the day hoping skimmers would move back in and have a feed but it didn’t happen I did sneak one skimmer near the end between all the plippy roach did have a  couple of better roach and Rudd only 6 oz tho thought I might of had 7 pound come the end and well down in the section and match but at the weigh in was surprised to see the scales go 10.4  which saw me finish 2nd in section behind match winner Martin hale with 11.6 FairPlay to him stuck it out on the tip and it payed off πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ round to the other section Thorney was admitting to 10 pound but was grinning like a Cheshire Cat cos he was after my pound !!!! And pulling his fish out looked close but he had a bonus flukey tench the wanker πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ and beat me by 4 pissing ounces to take 2nd overall. See all that practice pays off mate not πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ the other lake struggled with paul Swain won with 9.2 just piping Wayne staples by 1oz and sensas sam struggled for 6 pound πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ tough day all round but a good crack with the lads on me local πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Quite happy I got the section by default as mrs txt me saying we have to get chippy for tea as she forgot to take the joint out freezer so I better win was her words πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ oh had another little dabble at sea fishing again Thursday night low tide anchor head with my boy hour and 45 mins fishing time as he was tired πŸ’€ and he had a nice lil strap conger bless him I thought this would want him to stay for longer but oh no he’d had enough πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜’πŸ˜’πŸ˜’
So off we trotted saved the blank πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Thanks for reading hope everyone had a great weekend πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Viaduct Campbell psv

Gagging to get back out after my last outing 2 weeks ago !!! I took my lad for a dabble off sandbay beach Thursday night as haven’t done any sea fishing since I got back into match fishing 2 bites no fish πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ but nice bit of father son time and my boy wants to do it again so πŸ‘πŸ‘ that scratched my itch slightly but was gagging to get on the box viaduct Campbell one of the country’s finest fishery’s in my opinion! Looked at yesterday’s all winners weights and looked like they caught most fish in the lake where a 100 pound was not near framing 😁πŸ€ͺ😜 and what with all the rain didn’t expect are match to be the same. At the draw wanted any where from half way down the lake back to 110 or 132 that end !!! Was bit disappointed when I pulled 124 and thought I may fish for silvers but with tiny rixon guesting today and next peg up  said he was goin for silvers so I thought better of itπŸ˜‚ next to me on my left was the peckinator double decker russ pecker

on the end corner peg flyer that is 123 😜😜 and the pound side bet was on least I had good company both sides although I did get a bit of neck ache off the silvers slayer big tone. But was disappointed that there was no yee has from him when he hooked a flying skimmer!!!πŸ˜‚ is that not standard procedure??? Or just me ???πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”any way my plan was meat short pellet long deck and shallow right edge and bomb

. At the all in went in the meat short after 10mins FISHOn !!! 1o min battle and a plump 1o pounder in the net 😁😁😁 another 15 mins and number 2 was on another lengthy battle ended with another 10 pounder in the net 😁😁 but I new it was all too much too soon like mrs keeps telling me πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ then the pecinator got in on some action grinning at me like a Cheshire Cat πŸ±πŸ˜‚ then it was all a bit of a struggle pecker kept netting a few and I was behind so I went long on deck had one then nothing then rotated my lines for. Not a lot lil perch and roach😱😱😱 tried shallow for a bit mugged one then nothing so chucked the bomb around a little bit chasing fish just had weird liners or bites who knows then I laced the 8mm skretting in some pink squid goo and it flew round 😏😏😎 tried again and nothing 😱😱 so stuck the last hour and half on the meat short which produced a couple of carp and a couple of skimmers !! Pecker was still ahead grinning at me with elastic ripping out of his pole πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I did lose a couple of carp and skimmers but nothing to cry about 😒😒 at the weigh in I put 73 pound on the scales for knowhere pecker bashed me up off the next peg (endpeg flyer)πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ but still enjoyed the day here’s the results sheet
Thanks for reading I also had to give Alan Healy a pound who won the match off 11o with 139 pound well done to him and the peckinator for taking my pounds πŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£ hope everyone had a great weekend πŸ‘πŸ‘
