Summerlane/locking pit knock up

The match was scheduled for the river but unfortunately the Weston club struggle to get numbers for matches on the river these days!!!! So I came up with the idea of having a silvers only knock up on summerlane/locking pit capped at 15 so there was room for pleasure anglers 😁😁 anyway the knock up filled up within an hour of putting the word. So day before I went and put some peg numbers on locking pit and the scene was set I didn’t really care where I drew but I did fancy the pit for a win!!!! Into the draw late and I pulled peg 2 summerlane it’s a great silvers peg with good history of silvers wins from it but I never do any good off it but with Ron stark on 7 my favourite silvers peg thought I would have my work cut out !!!!
Plan was method feeder short maggot line worm caster and gb at 11m straight in front and micros and expanders same length but at 2 o clock first hour went on tip had 2 skimmers but not the proper ones I was after so had a look on the short maggot line only catching tiny roach moved to 11m and started catching small skimmers but as soon as the sun came over the bushes dazzling my peg the skimmers just buggered off with most people struggling now I decided to get my head down and get a few roach short which helped me out quite a lot but I could see a martin hale getting the odd skimmer on the tip but it was boring waiting for them so I rotated my lines most of the day hoping skimmers would move back in and have a feed but it didn’t happen I did sneak one skimmer near the end between all the plippy roach did have a  couple of better roach and Rudd only 6 oz tho thought I might of had 7 pound come the end and well down in the section and match but at the weigh in was surprised to see the scales go 10.4  which saw me finish 2nd in section behind match winner Martin hale with 11.6 FairPlay to him stuck it out on the tip and it payed off 👍👍👍 round to the other section Thorney was admitting to 10 pound but was grinning like a Cheshire Cat cos he was after my pound !!!! And pulling his fish out looked close but he had a bonus flukey tench the wanker 😂😂 and beat me by 4 pissing ounces to take 2nd overall. See all that practice pays off mate not 😂😂😂 the other lake struggled with paul Swain won with 9.2 just piping Wayne staples by 1oz and sensas sam struggled for 6 pound 😂😂 tough day all round but a good crack with the lads on me local 👍👍👍

Quite happy I got the section by default as mrs txt me saying we have to get chippy for tea as she forgot to take the joint out freezer so I better win was her words 😂😂😂 oh had another little dabble at sea fishing again Thursday night low tide anchor head with my boy hour and 45 mins fishing time as he was tired 💤 and he had a nice lil strap conger bless him I thought this would want him to stay for longer but oh no he’d had enough 😂😂😂😢😢😢
So off we trotted saved the blank 😂😂
Thanks for reading hope everyone had a great weekend 👍👍👍👍

Viaduct Campbell psv

Gagging to get back out after my last outing 2 weeks ago !!! I took my lad for a dabble off sandbay beach Thursday night as haven’t done any sea fishing since I got back into match fishing 2 bites no fish 😂😂 but nice bit of father son time and my boy wants to do it again so 👍👍 that scratched my itch slightly but was gagging to get on the box viaduct Campbell one of the country’s finest fishery’s in my opinion! Looked at yesterday’s all winners weights and looked like they caught most fish in the lake where a 100 pound was not near framing 😁🤪😜 and what with all the rain didn’t expect are match to be the same. At the draw wanted any where from half way down the lake back to 110 or 132 that end !!! Was bit disappointed when I pulled 124 and thought I may fish for silvers but with tiny rixon guesting today and next peg up  said he was goin for silvers so I thought better of it😂 next to me on my left was the peckinator double decker russ pecker

on the end corner peg flyer that is 123 😜😜 and the pound side bet was on least I had good company both sides although I did get a bit of neck ache off the silvers slayer big tone. But was disappointed that there was no yee has from him when he hooked a flying skimmer!!!😂 is that not standard procedure??? Or just me ???🤔🤔🤔any way my plan was meat short pellet long deck and shallow right edge and bomb

. At the all in went in the meat short after 10mins FISHOn !!! 1o min battle and a plump 1o pounder in the net 😁😁😁 another 15 mins and number 2 was on another lengthy battle ended with another 10 pounder in the net 😁😁 but I new it was all too much too soon like mrs keeps telling me 😂😂 then the pecinator got in on some action grinning at me like a Cheshire Cat 🐱😂 then it was all a bit of a struggle pecker kept netting a few and I was behind so I went long on deck had one then nothing then rotated my lines for. Not a lot lil perch and roach😱😱😱 tried shallow for a bit mugged one then nothing so chucked the bomb around a little bit chasing fish just had weird liners or bites who knows then I laced the 8mm skretting in some pink squid goo and it flew round 😏😏😎 tried again and nothing 😱😱 so stuck the last hour and half on the meat short which produced a couple of carp and a couple of skimmers !! Pecker was still ahead grinning at me with elastic ripping out of his pole 😂😂 I did lose a couple of carp and skimmers but nothing to cry about 😢😢 at the weigh in I put 73 pound on the scales for knowhere pecker bashed me up off the next peg (endpeg flyer)😂😂 but still enjoyed the day here’s the results sheet
Thanks for reading I also had to give Alan Healy a pound who won the match off 11o with 139 pound well done to him and the peckinator for taking my pounds 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣 hope everyone had a great weekend 👍👍

Landsend match lake psv

Not been fishing for what seemed like an eternity and not a lot on as usual this time of year so got in with the psv lads on landsend after talking to russ peck he said u wanna draw far side 15- 19 so into the draw pulled out 6 but had the choice of 6 or 7 so took 7 plan was meat over far bank pellet down middle meat down left edge and gb and meat down right edge. Nice and simple

At the all in tried some pellet down middle after feeding my other lines but 15mins and not a sniff so went over far bank had 3 fish then it died a bit so tried edges not a lot doing there except small perch and roach so back across foul hookers were a problem and lost a few was struggling so last couple of hours I’ve managed to put a few together and come last half hour left edge was solid but too little too late in the last 2 mins float buried so like a bull in a china shop bullying what I thought was a small carp but was a dirty great bream over 3pound and it’s come off costing me the silvers win 😡😡😡😡😢😢😢😢 still managed one more carp and that was that did pants 53 pound but enjoyed being out!!! Had to give a quid to Ryan Radford and al Healy but highlight of the day was Adam caswell trying to drag the island in for the first half of the match and messing up a chance at the golden peg from flyer 19 😂😂😂 still a good day with a good bunch of lads 👍
Thanks for reading can’t wait to get out again 👍👍👍👍

Weston away day+shiplate open

Was looking forward to our clubs away day the chairman’s cup at the prolific Todber manor hillview lake. With my name on the cup twice and two of me pals was all to play for first to 3. So after the weird drive through the country lanes arrived at the cafe skevys in plenty of time the food was probably a 4.2 on the rixon scale!!! Anyway onto the draw I wanted one of the flyers I believe they are 48.49 and 56? But pulled 46 last time we were there the lads done well on that bank so I fancied it for a few. Anyway to my right I had beach caster Barry (Simon Ryall) and to the left empty peg but oh no guess who rocked up late there tom thick !!!! I had more bloody side bets than pellets on me tray anyway plan of attack was method to island with gb or micros whatever they preferred !! 14.5m deck and shallow for hard pellets and same for a short rig bottom of shelf at the all in potted some pellets on the 14m line and chucked the tip out few liners and not a lot was happening then beach caster Barry was getting one a bung and then so was Tom and they just completely abliterated me with banter and my head was gone they were both battering  me mentally and with fish I should of got ear defenders out the van but I was getting a few but would have 2 or 3 fish then nothing off each line anyway I persisted with the abuse and caught a few late short deck and shallow. Felt like I blanked the way they were goin on !!!! Anyway long story short I had 88 pound for knowhere Barry had 89 pound so after all the abuse one fish behind 😡😡tom had 123 ish think anyway well done pair of pr::::::😂😂😂 back to the crown for tea, results and banter which were all at a good level I paid all my side bets and well done to me mate mark Thorne who won the match and got his name on cup for the 3rd time no pics as was mentally destroyed !!!!😂😂 sort of enjoyable day.
Next up on Sunday wasn’t a lot on after pleading to get on acorn with the psv no space so  just squeazed in on the open at shiplate hawthorns. After Thursday I just wanted a quiet day with a few fish at the draw pulled peg 5 didn’t really mean anything to me as don’t fish there much on arrival to the peg the water looked a funny colour and the carp were just cruising about slowly anyway I went about my business quietly for a change and got my head down plan was strawberry corn over far bank over micros and gb caster shallow down the middle and pellet and corn down the edges at  the all in potted 2 spots on the far bank and went on it while chucking caster out me hand down middle wasn’t right was getting liners and it just wasn’t happening but there was a few cruising carp so I got the caster rig out and mugged 3 fish quite quickly 😁😁 but they soon buggered off so spent the rest of the match scratching around but only catching on the caster I did lose a couple but everything I caught was on the caster I landed 12 fish for 72 pound and the match win which I was surprised at but it fished rock hard due to air pressure and a fair bit of rain going but was a nice quiet day beating the regulars that fish it every week 😂😂

No pictures again as forgot really just having a nice quiet day and I think you have seen enough of my box !!!!! Thanks for reading one thing I have learnt over the 2 matches keep mouth shut 🤐 and always carry ear defenders 😂😂😂😂

Uk angling champs barston

Onto the last round of this awesome series of matches at the mighty barston only ever been there once last year and drew the flier 124 so was hoping for the same again.🤞🤞🤞 but it wasn’t to be 105 stuck to my hand

nd as I wasn’t doing any good in the league plan was sit it out for better fish!!!! To my right was Nathan Watson and we have had some good banter and I scabbed a tin of corn off him from 1983 😂😂 cheers nath didn’t have a sniff on it plan was hybrid long and longer!!! Bomb and pellet 35m left a bit and pole for skimmers but didn’t give it long and didn’t have a sniff on it !!!! First chuck and it’s flew round on the hybrid and white Wafter a nice 3 pound carp 2nd chuck f1 then a good skimmer then it’s died so I’ve gone longer nothing by this time Nathan was catching good skimmers on the pole so I tried that and couldn’t get a bite then on in I struggled for most of the match getting the odd f1 and skimmer and near the end managed a little flurry of bites off all the lines except the pole I did manage one proper carp 10 pound plus but it was not to be for me again in this league 😂😂😂 I did beat 2 in my section
But got bashed up either side again😂😂😂 never mind. To say I’ve learnt a lot is an understatement really enjoyed every outing and hopefully can do it again next year. Well done to Zack brown on winning the league and jimmy brooks winning the match  and all the framers. I’ve not written my blog too much lately as not had a lot of time and been going through a tough spell 😜😜. That’s all the big matches finished for me this year so try and starting getting amongst it locally 🤞🤞 shiplate mainlake this Sunday hopefully draw on some whales 🐋😂😂 thanks for reading ps I went to the awesome acorn fishery bank holiday Monday drew a great peg 5 had 138 pound for knowhere and Keith ray had the new match record with 451 pound on a topkit FairPlay 👍👍🤞🤞

Sedges evening match

Not fished here for a while since the silvers series in winter and with acorn finished thought why not the match was scheduled for tile lake and the day before on the open most caught a load.

So plan was pellet shallow on the pole as still learning the game and nothing else so set up 3 shallow rigs pellet wag and bomb just in case but never touched it was tempted a few times but instead just slapped it harder 😜😜anyway 26 was my home Steve kedge to my right and Neil vening to my left could see Paul squire in the distance

Ledgend !!!! 😜 so anyway with a few fish swimming short started at 8m slap slap slap FISh on !!!!! Had a good half hour there before they disappeared so moved out to 14.5 had a good middle of the match putting a few in the net and then bites seemed to take an eternity but stuck it out till the end . Fished 0.17 mainline 0.15 bottom 8mm over 6ss on a 14 guru slwg to a a 4x10 des shallow float. Really enjoyed the evening and didn’t even use a plummet 😜😜😜
Bashed up by the yocals and owner 😂😂😂did manage a nugget off cerri Maddox tho 😎😎all friendly lads down there and full of fish 🐋 Hopefully get a pass for next week thanks for reading 👍👍👍

Bit of all sorts!!!!

Sorry for not blogging too much lately I thought I’d give u all a rest !!😂😂 truth is I been flat out at work rushing from job to bloody job and squeezing in fishing where are I can and having some time with the family. Any way first up was the last match of the acorn evening matches only 10 for this god knows why as it’s awesome down there think the match can be won from anywhere really and I was just getting warmed up down there 😜😜!!! Anyway good bit of banter with matt roden and walshy and a few others then in to the draw and I drew 18 on the back straight

idn’t really fancy it but I stayed positive and stuck to the plan caster shallow at top set plus 3 and pellet over pellet down the 2 edges. At the all in slam dunked some pellets down the edges and started pinging in the casters like a machine 💪💪 quick go down the left had a quick fish and then lost a foul hooker and there were signs on the caster so went for it really stayed on it most of the match fishing 4 inches deep putting a few fish in the net not fast and furious just little spells of 2 or 3 fish then had to wait for the next spell really I do enjoy fishing this method. Vic bush to my right seemed to be getting one a bung down his edge and thought he would definitely beat me and talk was everyone was catching a few! I just kept my head down and persisted with it!!! At the weigh in it was a close match and I went over in one of me nets quite difficult when it’s 40 pound limit !!!
That was that 2nd again but enjoyed the night never the less took a few nuggets off the lads and finally had to give walshy one back 😂😂 thanks to dan at Cadbury and acorn fishery for letting us fish I vote keep going next year till it’s too dark !!!!
Onto the next one uk champs at hayfield lakes in Doncaster rnd 3 was looking forward to going to this northern Mecca off a fishery 3 and half hour drive mind 200 miles roughly but hey ho didn’t really know where I wanted to draw but would’ve been happy with island chuck !! But never had one drew 58 on Danny’s island lake where fisho was held a few days before and I was 4 pegs from where Andy power was if that helps anyone

Basically an all out pellet approach with some speacial g paste for the conker I was sandwiched between Stuart lister and dan white and to be honest I’ve had a mare all match I’ve started short with pellets on the deck catching a couple of bream and Stuart to my left having carp then dan to my right has gone long shallow catching well so I followed suit but I was only getting the odd fish and they were small and I’ve struggled all day really last hour and half I’ve gone down edge foul hooked one lost it then nothing else there so just stayed shallow last hour at 14.5m ended catching a couple but way off dans pace !!!! Think I ended up with 30 something only beating 2 in my section 😢😢😢 never mind it was good experience and definitely learnt a few things dan won the section with 91 pound I think and Stewart had 40 something to my left so must try harder !!!on to the next won
Golden reel at larford fancied a draw on the specie lake or the first 10 match lake pegs but drew 68 on specie on arrival the peg had a really steep bank behind me but there was cruising fish everywhere and they weren’t small 🐋 !!! On plumbing up all in front of me short was really snaggy !!! So plan was start on pellet shallow at 14.5m first 3 slaps and it’s buried but soon came off next gonand another one on landed that one tho 😎😎 then again but this time was skimmer then it died and the struggle began I’ve thrashed the pellet wag for a couple of hours only having 2 carp tried the bomb over it for nothing and even chucked the method really long but nothing I cupped a load of gb in at 14.5m slightly to the right away from my shallow line and started catching a few skimmers on the corn but all the time I’d been pinging pellets over my shallow line and into the last hour now and I seen a boil on the pellets so out I went slap slap slap fish on had a few on it last hour but not enough !!! 61 pound for knowhere again didn’t hang about for section results probably grim reading 😂😂 never mind still a nice day !!!! I only got one more big match this year at the minute that is barston for final rnd of uk champs can’t wait to get back up there hope for a flyer 🤞🤞🤞. Also me and some mates been having some Monday night knock ups at Ambleside or Jurassic Park as I like to call been doing pants at that too but good crack with the lads

That was larford!!! 😂

That was somewhere 😂😂 around 30lb on the middy m2 with 30 elastic on single corn 😂😂

Summerlane eve sweep rnd 6 😬😬

Going in to this match I was top of the league but it was close behind with Thorney one point behind and Chris zsacks just behind him.
This was before the match as u can see I was raring to go 😂😂 that’s Wayne staples in the back ground with his mrs top on 😜 anyway a good draw was needed fancied 6 7 or 8 and was not dissatisfied when 2nd from last I pulled peg 7 it’s a good area with usually a few skimmers around !!!! Plan was worm over gb at 13 m expander over micros same range but at 2 o clock and a meat line as left over from viaduct the meat line I fed heavy to attract carp really hopefully keep them away from my other lines I only looked on it ones to no avail. At the all in I fed my lines and chucked the method out for 30 mins had a few liners missed one then had one on only for it to come off at the net 😡😡😡 Thorney went off like a rocket on 10 but he wasn’t in my section so didn’t really care so pole time now could see fizzing on the Gb now small bit of worm on the hook with a white caster and it buried straight away small skimmer lovely then a bootlace and then started bumping fish but think it was scatty roach😱😱but then I got my head down and started to get the odd skimmer to two pound lovely I kept holding them up for my Australian pal Sam gooday Johnson over on 2 who was in my section 😂😂 just to let him know 😎😎 anyway it wasn’t hectic just the odd fish till the end really I just hoped I done enough for the section 🤞🤞 Sam had 9 pound in peg 2 Ron had 3 pound in peg 4 and James red stone (20pounder) didn’t bother troubling the scales so as it turned out I pissed the section and match with 15.2 of skimmers 3 eels and a roach I hooked 3 carp throughout the evening so not too bad !!!!
Really enjoyed the series this year had some good draws but still gotta catch them we’ve had some wicked banter throughout with a great bunch of lads luckily enough I’ve finally won this series as I’ve been very close for the last 3 years and that man Thorney usually pips me at the final hurdle 😳😳🤪🤪but not this time !!!!!
Big thanks to fishing tackle warehouse sonubaits and fox/matrix for sponsoring the event means a lot to us all everyone in the series picked up a prize 👍👍👍

Really enjoying my fishing at the minute win or lose and that’s what it’s all about 👍👍 if anyone wants to do this series next year u have to buy a club tab which is 35£ a year so that’s basically peg fee for 6 matches and series is a £10 and £10 pools each match with optional golden peg which didn’t get won so is goin towards prizes for Xmas match !!! Thanks for reading the Weston club has a good following now and the matches are great 👍

Psv viaduct Campbell

Well booked on this yesterday afternoon after getting thumbs up off the boss 👍👍 I fancied 129 to 132 or 110 to 115 really into the draw 119 corner peg but wrong corner I thought!!!!

Told myself before the match I’m gonna keep it simple but being the calamity that I am set up bomb rod pellet wag edge rig down to corner meat short pellet long deck and shallow after a few mins on the bomb that was boring could see fizzing long deck rig tried it but just liners and skimmer what fell off 😡😡 out with the shallow rig to no avail slapping the granny out of it which is a bit foreign to me but I’m getting it slowly 🤪🤪🤪🤪!!!! Really struggling old happy bollox next door lee Waller was having a mare with foul hookers and what not !!!! But was beating me !! Had a look down edge took a 4 pounders but then nothing so went on bomb had 1 and then nothing😱😱😱 ratted out by small roach and odd skimmers on the meat line so here’s my chance to get going at this slapping game got my head down and went for it started catching a few 😎 like I been doing it years 😂😂😂 had little spells of 2 or 3 fish varying from 3 pound to 13lb mugged a few also smashed a top kit lost rig elastic hole sha bang on another top kit 😱😱proper calamity!!! Happiness packed up early and I managed a few more but thought I had around 80 pound probably for knowhere 😬😬😬 when the scales reached me I tipped 111.06 lb more than I thought !! I asked what’s winning so far he said me bargain but with the whole other side to weigh didn’t think I would get anything but the section but I just sneaked in behind Alan Healy who was 2nd with117 pound and big Ryan who won with 150 odd think if I wasn’t such a calamity today I shoulda woulda coulda had more but if buts and maybes I’ve had a nice day got me money back plus a bit and 3rd on the day keep on framing 😂😂 thanks for reading summerlane finale tomorrow head to head me And the bagger Thorne for the prestige title 😂😂😂!!!!   Il prob mess that up too !!!!! Hope everyone’s had a good weekend #its coming home 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Summerhayes summerlane acorn 3in1

First up I been so busy and not really had time to write a blog. Anyway I booked on to summerhayes  short notice with the psv club who were on longs lake I’d quite fancied a visit as not been in a couple of years so I was in managed to get pagey and Simon on aswell. Had a few side bets lined up Adam Ryan Chris zsacks Alan Healy Simon and pagey wanted his fiver back so it was all to play for into the draw I pulled 2 out pagey said il have ine so he grabbed one then I asked if he wanted to swap so he did then we opened I had 32 he had 4 he wasn’t happy I’ve never drew that bank so wasn’t sure what to expect on arrival I was faced with 16m across and a bit over grown down edges with an empty peg either side I decided to chuck method around for an hour which was ok having 8 small carp in the first hour then losing a couple it died I’d fed some go and been pinging casters over it down the middle had 1 on it straight away then nothing kept trying my edges to no avail then it just proper died on all lines un deterred I upped the amount of caster I was throwing in and more regular ready for last two hours was just seeing signs of a few fish there and then it absolutely peed down for a good hour in that hour I caught nothing again😢😢😢 it absolutely killed my caster shallow line so went down edges nothing finished off with 3 or 4 on the caster shallow I think if it hadn’t of rained I would of had a solid 2 hours but it just wasn’t to be 😳😳😢😢 whole lake had fished hard by the sound of things and the truth was told at the weigh in there was 2 weights of 40 odd pound a few 30s then me 29 pound what a strange day 🤔🤔🤔 was expecting to empty it as were most
Never mind I paid my pounds out collected my diver off pagey and poundoff Simon and Adam !!!!
Onto the penultimate rnd of summerlane evening sweeps over all weight so a flyer was needed as I was sat joint top with Thorney and I wasn’t disappointed drew peg 1

Plan was method to reeds and pole 12m down the left edge first hour went on tip only landing one small carp was just hoping my edge came good which thankfully it did as Thorney was on flyer 18 new I needed a few had a steady last 2 hours putting odd carp in the net a good skimmer and eel.
Walked the section and match with 61 pound but Thorney got second in section meaning he’s only 1 point behind me now 😬😬 going into final rnd Monday silvers only

So on to Thursday missed a couple of these and the fish haven’t been there usual selves but with only 11 or 12 on was hoping they would have it usual banter before the draw with the boys and I pulled peg 7
I decided to chuck a mini method to corner of island first 10 mins had one and lost one fed my edges and caster top 6 but on first throw of caster there were fish there so spent 2hrs 45 mins on this pretty much getting one a bung I lost a few until I sorted my hook out which cost me a bit of time but had a really busy enjoyable match.
I put 125lb on the scales but I was a bit worried as I had a 4 pounder jump clean outta my keepnets and that definitely cost me the Win as matt roden won the match with 127 lb but FairPlay to him I will definitely be keeping my nets up higher or covering them in future !!!!!  Still a great night 👍👍👍 thanks for reading

Uk champs rnd 2 glebe

Looked forward to a nice day off  work and a visit to the glebe had a walk round with Ben Hagg and Jamie park house had some banter and talks of a dream draw !!!!!
Into the tin of dreams and pulled 79 lake 5 middle of the lake penned in!!!! My head was gone before we even started I set up waggler and bomb and hardly used it wind was pushing through left to right. So I set my stall stall to fish caster shallow and through the layers at top kit plus 3 (first mistake) shoulda fished it long !!! Had an edge line either side at top for slightly out from the bank where I found some clean flat spots!!! At the all in chucked the bomb across and fired pellet and fed my caster line had a few chucks on bomb and wag for nothing so went on the caster line losing 2 carp in two puttings 😡😡😱 then all I could catch was skimmers and the odd pasty had a hectic spell shallow of 3 carp 😂then lost won and it died went back fishing it through the layers and just bream 😡😱 so primed my edge and went in 8mm banded floats buried 3 pound skimmer !!!! I caught a few I learnt a few things and enjoyed the day just not the result I was hoping for!!!! It was just one of them days I ended with 12 pound of skimmers and 29 of carp for 41 pound only beating one in my section 😱😱😢😢 Pete archer on end peg wind blowing in won the section with 150 pound then there was a couple other ton weights. So not the draw I wanted gotta be due a flyer at hayfield in the next round pls pls pls save some pride 😂😂 I wheel span out the car park !!!!😂😂 didn’t hang about for the results. Anyway onwards and upwards gotta get some prep done now sort my act out !!! Proper calamity 😂😂👍👍 thanks for reading sorry for boring you with pour results but I don’t want be acussed of you only sing when u win😂 and it gives me something to look back on next year and remember where I went wrong no pics as took me to long to setup and as soon as it finished I was gone like lightning 😂😂

Summerlane rnd 4 evening silvers only

Well needed a good draw for this one to keep top of the table and was not disappointed as pulled peg 2 which is usually a great silvers peg with the added pressure of it being golden peg 😬😬 the wheels were smoking on my trolley I pretty much ran to it 😂😂. Set my stall out to fish worm over gb at 13m at 11 o’clock and micros and expander at 1 o’clock I also had a short line but never had a sniff on it. At the all in fed my lines and had a few chucks on the tip for not a sniff I should of give it more time but being an eager beaver!!! I’ve gone on pole early and ruined my lines catching carp and the odd small skimmer took most of my 7 skimmers on the expander but shoulda stuck to worm I think🤔🤔 didn’t think I was doin too bad in my section then Chris zsacks said he had 11 skimmers 😳😳 I feel I fished a pour match really but were they even there ?? My 7 went 6.6 lb for 2nd in section Chris’s 11 went 16 pound to win the match
Well done mate smashed it !!!and took a well deserved pound back 👍👍 on to my other side bets took one off des Phillips and sensas sam either side of me dangerous Dave ran off without paying then Thorney the king of summerlane finally got his mojo back and took a pound back after the 5 in a row I’ve had off him 😂😂👍👍👍 then I got absolutely ripped to pieces after the match but FairPlay I would of done the same 😂😂!!!! I’m still top just joint top now 😂😂 but thorneys got a big weight and chris zsacks and a few others are now on my tail with 2 rounds left !!! It will be what it will be 👍👍
So roll on the next one hope I draw a flier and it’s solid !!🤞🤞😂😂👍 thanks for reading

Todber hillview Weston aa away day

Been dying to get to this prolific venue after seeing the results every week!! And finally we did. We had bright sunshine and wind !!!
On the way we stopped off at Skevys cafe which was quite good when the food came but there was only 2 of them trying to sort 25 lads !!!on arrival stopped at the tackle shop and was very impressed the staff were helpful and friendly we drew at the cafe and not ever seeing the lake didn’t know what to expect didn’t really care it was all about having a nice day!!so I pulled 43 I herd 49 was a good peg so thought I wasn’t far away but it was on the far section of the lake 😂😂 . I was slightly disappointed with my peg as no island chuck and my peg was facing down to the corner!!! For company to my left i had Paul Hawkins who was really quiet (which was strange 😜) and Titch (pink gin squad) Williams to my right it was pretty quiet while setting up then guess who ?? Local bait ledgend Tom thick and Lewis jones and my peg was facing the pair of them I thought well if I didn’t catch much least I could watch these two😎.

The pic don’t do it justice the wind was coming hard from right to left making presentation on the pole difficult. First hour I’ve struggled to present anything properly.but from the off I was pinging in some 6mms at 18m just for something to do if it was hard or whatever!! After an hour of watching Lewis have one a bung on the tip I gently chucked out the bomb and it went round slow and steady all little pasties pulling the rod off the rest mind had a carrasio aswell !! But after giving Simon Ryall a load as he kept losing fish I lost a few but his new name is beachcaster Barry !!! So I shortened my hook length and started to land them but I wasnt going anywhere fast tom was catching steady on his shallow rig now and looked like I was gonna get proper bashed up !!!  But I kept feeding and trying my edges and other lines for nothing really then the tip line went dead and the wind dropped a little bit so got my head down went on me pellet line I was feeding by hand all day with 6s I was getting weird bites and losing fish and tearing my hair out switched up to an 8mm then had a nice run off fish soon as I hooked one I threw a small handful of 6s in the water as hard as I could to make the noise I now call this technique the slam dunk 😜😂. I had a steady last two hours catching in spells but all small fish mainly pounders and I’ve not seen a fish over 2 pound!!! Through out the day we’ve had loadsa banter me tom Lewis and Titch all giving each other a load Lewis is now the carrasio kid !!! He could only catch one or two then nothing and they got funny mouths 😂😂 he told us many times through out the day.had a few side bets on the day as it’s away day had a fiver with Billy no mates Jonny page who drew down the bottom on his own no wind 😂😂 cheers Jonny had another fiver with Matt Thomas who drew the flier 49 and won the match with 130 ish I think musta been solid 😜
Well done 👍 pound with tom thick I scraped that one by a pound Paul Hawkins cheers mate dan Latimer cheers mate I had to give one to beachcaster Barry but took one off peanut who won the silvers with 30 pound  cheers mate then it was round to Thorney I’ve had 4 in a row was it gonna be five course it was 😂😂 des Phillips had to give me one also 😂😂 had more side bets than pellets on me tray 😱😱 I only weighed 71 pound but probably had 65 fish so a nice day. After the match we went to the crown just up the road for results and grub and more banter I think I was crying with laughter at one stage!!! Peanut won silvers Jerry day won his section 80 ish pound Lewis won my section with 90 odd and mattthomas won the match well done to all and thanks for reading can’t wait to go there again awesome fishery 😊👍👍👍 thanks to everyone for the laughs on the day and thanks for reading 👍👍

Summerlane rnd 3 evening sweep

11 lads made it to this round with it being an everything counts round just hoped for a flyer 1 10 11 or 18 but it wasn’t to be drew peg 8 again (jungle warfare) same as last week😱😱 good for silvers not great with carp!!!!
With mark Thorne in my section on 12 didn’t really think I stood a chance 12 is a lovely edge peg and carp live there
There he is!!! Any way plan was fish it the same as last week but with stronger hook and white hydro to give me a good chance of landing a carp or too if the chance arrived😳my gb was slightly different too at the all in filled one line in positive and one quite negative flicked some pellets with the catty and chucked out the conker. 1min and 10 seconds it’s flown round a lovely skimmer getting on for 2 pound thought come on then let’s have it but not another bite on it😢😢😢 so went on me positive line and struggled had 2 skimmers off it and 3 eels and 1 carp but it was a lump 🤞🤞🤞it would beat Thorney Chris zsacks was to my left he had a mare losing a few carp and a pound to me 😁😁 the whole place fished rock hard again really. But Thorney lost 9 carp and landed 1 snapped a top kit and lost a feeder he was distraught and he had to give me another pound 😂😂😂 that’s 4 in a row 😊 dangerous Dave and lee Phillips struggled off flyers 10 and 11 and sensas Sam Johnson made no mistake off his flyer 18 winning his section and match with 45 pound tough night once again but lots of banter at the weigh in which I filmed it’s on the Weston aa fb page if anyone wants a laugh it’s a good job we had the banter cos the fishing was hard 👊👊👊 anyway I had my dropper when I was away on holiday so can’t afford any bad results and 🤞🤞 2 section wins out of 2 seeing me top of the table 😊😊 just gotta get my drawing arm back for a big weight in case it comes down to weight at the end as thorneys gotta 90 pound in the mix 😱😱
Roll on Thursday first visit to todber hillview hopefully some more nuggets !!!!😜😜😜 thanks for reading 👍👍👍👍👍

Psv club shiplate mainlake

Didn’t know where to fish this Sunday as not a lot on as it was viaduct spring league but thought sod it il try get on the psv match at shiplate as it’s close to home .
Couple of msgs and I’m in bargain👍👍 then I herd someone needed a fill in at viaduct. But I’m not one to mess around with matches !!!!
So In my head if I don’t draw a flier I’m fishing for silvers 👊👊 but with a few pound side bets knocking about I needed some carp 🤪.on arrival Adam was running the match today paid him my pennies and had a brew little chat with the regulars and steve and carol then into the draw 1 or 15 pls pls pls out comes 14 😱😱 it’s a good area loadsa water to go out

So had various rods set up for tight to island and off the island and on the point and 1 and only pole line straight in front 11m at the all in I fed the pole line with 3 big pots of groundbait 1 with chop worms and caster another with micros expanders just to mix it up a bit give me hook bait options !!!! Anyway after chucking various rods around for an hour and a bit had 2 skimmers on the rods and that was it could see a few bubbles on the Gb had a look with 6mm expander and it’s buried straight away I had a nice hour putting around ten pound in the net then it died so put a couple more balls in and chucked the rod out again but I was just getting liners or skimmers pecking at my bait 😢😢 just wanted a carp or 2 to help my side bets but it didn’t happen so stayed on the silvers line for the rest of the day just putting the odd skimmer in the net around the pound mark and 2 lovely little tench foul hooked a couple of carp which killed my swim lost a couple of 2 pounders at the net too 😡😡😡 at the all out I had 29 skimmers and 2 tench hopefully enough for the silvers ??? And it was I weighed in 30lb dead probably best silvers weight in a match to date FairPlay it musta been solid cos I’m crap at silvers 😂😂😂 but always learning and hopefully getting better 😜😜
I was quite chilly at the end wind coming down the lake all day 😂😂
There’s the pro weigh sheet psv club don’t mess around mind 😂😂😂 rig today was .6 wire stem Drennan a s to 0.13 Preston re flow to 0.11 bottom to 16 guru f1 pellet hook 6mm bait tech expander I did swap to 4s now and again and worm and caster but 6mm was best by far!!!on the way back paid out a few nuggets out to double decker russ pecker who I got in on the match 😳 then 🥜 who challenged me off another lake 😬😬 then little Ryan who smashed the match off peg 3 but all was not lost as took one of Adam 😁.All in all had a lovely day roll on Monday evening summerlane evening sweep rnd 3 🤞🤞 crossed for another solid peg and hopefully some nuggets back😂😂

Acorn evening match

Arrived at the fishery in plenty of time only 13 booked on so plenty of space!!and one no show mentioning no names matt roden!!hope all is well 👍Into the draw pulled peg 9 but I thought it was 6 then realised what a muppet 😂😂 anyway they all say 9 is a flyer so was quite happy till I got there wind ploughing waves through the peg from right to left could of surfed it!!!!!

Plan was paste short caster shallow and a mini method rod for the point as it was so windy at the all in fed my lines and went on the paste within 5 mins I was into a skimmer then another then a roach then a carp finally but hook pulled snapped my only set up paste float 😱😱😡😡 I was gonna chuck the method out and set up another up but thought I’d have a little look on the caster line first then had a steady hour putting the odd fish in the net but all smallish fish f1s mainly to 2 pound with a dog roach and some skimmers in between the f1s. Strange as last year I was catching some big carp on the caster but they don’t seem to want it this year 😢😢 I could see fizzing on my paste line so chucked method set up another rig and went on it I had one bite on method but missed it as was faffing with my new paste rig when I finally got it in had a nice spell catching a good tench more skimmers and a couple of small carp but lost a couple and it died so finished the match with 3 more f1s on the caster. Lots of fish all small tho put my rigs away then headed to van to get jumper spoke to mark bromsgrove he said he had 60 pound ish I thought I had around 50 😱😱 looked over to high 30s and mike chapman playing a fish Mark said he packed his rigs away and looked up and mike was still fishing down his edge so I shouted over we’ve finished then mike shouts FISH ON like I was the whistle 😂😂😂 anyway packed away shaking my head and then started weighing mark bromsgrove done me by 8 poundish of peg 7 I had 60 pound dead off 9 chap called Adam had 31 odd off 11 then round to Thorney to see how the pound was looking I new he had a few but he was saying 30 pound on the wind up but he had 50.8 so I smiled and proceeded to give him a load 😂😂 3 in a row cheers Thorney I also asked him where he was Sunday as I needed more money 😂😂 he took it well as always tho 👍👍👍 then onto my other side bet good old walshy he seemed pissed off getting bitted out on the paste but he also had to give me a pound😂😂 that’s another 3 in a row but he’s a good sport and I’m sure il have to give all these pounds back sooner or later!!! All the way round I was second dangerous dan beat Toby for there pound bet then it was Lewis Jones who I challenged to a pound but he declined thank god has he pissed the match really with 87 pound odd then Titch on his first visit to the fishery had 46.2 👍 then round to good old mike Mark whispered to me walk past say he’s disqualified so we did then we had a laugh 😂 but mike didn’t offer to put a fish back he just smiled and took Mark bromsgroves 2nd place with  69.4 😱😱😱 I think if he would of pushed me out of the money like that I would of had something to say but he didn’t cos I didn’t catch enough so I kept quiet ish anyway and that was that I just can’t catch big fish there at the minute but regardless I had a good evening and probably caught more fish than most estimated 30-40 fish in total but tiddlers 🤪🤪🤪 there all a good bunch of lads down there and always enjoy it 👍👍👍👍 thanks for reading 👍👍👍🎣🎣

Weston aa evening sweeps rnd 2

Well missing round 1 last Monday being on holiday that’s my dropper for the series gone so needed a good result but with the series being 1 week everything counts 1 week silvers only I missed a carp round where I feel I’m stronger but these matches are usually a good crack weather the fish play ball is another story!!! Anyway arrived in plenty of time and was a boiling hot bright sunshine and no wind so was very doubtful of catching much so into the draw peg 8 comes out usually a good area for silvers 😁but plan was to fill in a short line with worm caster for some eels if I was struggling gb worm and caster at 13m at 11oclock and micros and expander at 2 o’clock at the all in fed my lines and chucked out small method with white bandem which the skimmers seem to like there 2nd chuck had a liner was feeling confident 3rd chuck some kids came along and chucked a massive rock in on the feeder line 😡😡😡😡 so they got a mouthful of obscenities(park lake fishing)!!!and tried the short line only to have one roach in 10 mins buy this time I could see my 13m lines bubbling so went on the Gb first it didn’t take long and I netted a nice skimmer around a pound 😊😊 bargain then a roach then it was slow so kept trying the other lines and resting it trying to get the fish to settle and the middle hour of the match I put a few together not fast and furious but some lovely bites. I looked round and Shawn kitteridge was sat behind with his camera 📷

I had a call from sensas Sam Johnson and I gave him the old I’m struggling only got 2 roach 😂😂 he was saying the same but 2 small skimmers but Sam loves to tell a porky or two 😂😂 I couldn’t see many but most were struggling so I was told. So with my many £1 side bets I just got my head down trying to pick off the odd fish last hour was a real struggle only putting one skimmer in the net as they seemed to have moved down to Jerry day on 9 who had 4 skimmers in the end and many carp 😂😂 but my peg was still fizzing it was frustrating at times but had a great evening with some good lads I’m really enjoying my fishing at the moment and that’s what it’s all about at the weigh in we had some good banter dangerous Dave Collins won the match with 12lb+ I came second with 11 lb + but got the all important section win 💪👍😂
Think he was more chuffed with winning the quits on a double or quits 😂😂 well done mate

There’s a little video of the weigh in on match fishing south west fb page and on the Weston aa page .was a good evening Lee des Phillips scraped his section with 3pound off flyer peg 1 also unfortunately I missed the weighing of Lee and dangerous Dave !!!but I enjoyed collecting my nuggets off the lads 😜😜 thanks for reading I’m at acorn Thursday evening and trying to get a pass for Sunday but don’t know where to go yet ???
