Weston aa silvers match summerlane

Due to flooding 2 weeks ago match was postponed until nye it was nearly flooded again so an email to Wessex water to stop pumping for as long as they could and with regular checks of the outlet by the Weston aa lads the levels were just about back to normal. Into the draw late on and I would of been happy pegs 1 to 11 and pulled peg 1 lovely not renowned as a silvers peg but didn’t mind. As my section was me 1 Copey peg 10 paul ratcliff peg11 and Gareth Lennox 18 basically all the carp flyers!! Weather looked perfect little ripple and cloudy.

This peg gives you lots of options as it commands a lot of water. My main plan if I drew a feeder peg was fish the small hybrid with a white wafter reason being I have caught lots of skimmers and big roach from the venue using this tactic in the past I did set up a more conventional gb feeder but never used it. All so had pole line 11m to my left and 11m straight out in the deep channel created by the outlet and a short maggot rig top 4 down the right edge. At the all in put some micro and mags down the left gb down the middle and threw some mags to the right chucked the feeder out purposely 10ft off the reeds so not to get carped out 12 mins passed by and the tips gone round skimmer about a pound and half bargain 2 more chucks another one mentall thought I was gonna empty it !!! Another few chucks had a bite reeeled into nothing then foul hooked a carp on the way in strange but it came off then re chucked and had another skimmer so hour and half In 3 good skimmers in the net know one else looked to be doing a lot except for Mark Thorne who was like a jack in the box on peg 6 he was up and down like a yo yo so I assumed he was struggling as only saw him have 1 skimmer but was concentrating on what I was doing really and not him because I may have got dizzy πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Anyway my tip line died of really tried shorter longer and tighter to reeds but nothing was happening so had a look on the pole down the left first drop bang carp on double maggot lil squeaker 2.13 oz second drop another one almost identical!!! 3rd drop another one but lost then some tiny roach which were probably 3 to an oz 😱😱😑😑 tried the gb line down the middle didn’t have a bite over that so tried the short mag line caught 2 tiny roach and some minnows sod that so for the rest of the match sat it out on the tip for nothing only the odd liner did look on the pole lines only putting a couple more tiny roach in the net so that was that word was whole lake was struggling chris zackacs packed up early from peg 16 . So on to the weigh in started with me just hoped I had the section but new that was gonna be tough with Gareth Lennox in there and was worried about my pound side bets πŸ˜‚ so I put on 5.14 on the scales not great but hoped it was enough Wayne struggled on peg 3 with a couple of pound of bits as did Martin hale on 4 putting 3 pound on . Next was jack in the box mark Thorne πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ FairPlay he snuck 10.6 in his nets peg 8 sam Day 5.9 then Jerry Day peg 9 not a lot around a pound I think Martin cope had 1.7 Paul ratcliff had a few on 11 12 was matt Thomas he had 1 pound odd of silvers but managed to land the biggest carp of the match at 10 pound odd then it was des Phillips on 13 with 3 roach for 7 oz πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ next door 14 was ron who put 6 pound together of bits Paul Swain on 15 put 4 or 5 pound together of bits the dangerous dave Collins on 17 struggled for not a lot then Gareth on 18 put just over 5 pound on the scales meaning my 3 bream and bits had given me the section and 3rd overall lovely was happy with that so picked a few quid up in side bets also πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ so mark was 1st ron 2nd me 3rd I did have to give Mark another pound so we’ll done mate πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‚. Was another hard day roll on the summer but everyone caught fish .
Nothing left to say but happy new year to everyone and thanks for reading my blogs that’s 1 year of blogging and my 3rd year of match fishing over I’ve had some good results this year only hoping to improve on them next year. Hope everyone had a great new year thanks for reading. Sorry for waffling on a bit πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Goodiford knock up

So was invited to a small knock up at goodiford mill capped at 10 by shaun larkham I thought yeah sound ok I’ve never fished it and herd it was black with fish so thought I would give it ago.
Then the 10 names started dropping like flies then the organiser 😱😱😱 too much drama πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚never mind I need a day out I tried to re fill it but was too short notice so any way we ended up with 7 of us spread around the whole lake I pulled 42 out of my hat next door to Chris zacks good bit of banter and a pound side bet was in order also a pound with steve Howell and diver with jonny page.
Plan was fish bomb and bread around peg. Gb and mag line 11m at 12 o’clock and 2 o’clock then maybe later small hybrid feeder with a wafter with some Manila micros yum yum!!!
First hour me and Chris were chucking around the bread to no avail and it looked like a blank was on the cards😭😭😭😱😱😱 so I potted in a small helping of my favourite gb mix at the moment for silvers which is tom thick’s intelligent and sensas black lake with some mags I had bites instantly tiny roach gudgeon I had a good Rudd and a good perch and a couple of blades stayed on this 2 and half hours also landed a small carp. Then decided to go back to van to get my vape juice so I could smoke chris out !!πŸ˜‚and the scales chatting to a few everyone was struggling and roughly had the same on passing Martin hale he just slipped a carp in his net and on the way back another one I noticed he was using gb feeder with a pink wafter which I also had on my side tray πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”while I was gone chris said he had a carp 6 or 7 pound so I was behind now get the hybrid out and get your head down I thought Chris kept plodding away on his caster line catching some better stamp roach than what I could catch and foul hooking a couple of carp (sure he was using trebles) πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚anyway after some good banter with Chris my tip started going round and in the last hour put 5 or 6 small carp in the net at the weigh in I had 4 .10 of silvers and 23 of carp giving me 27,1o lovely enough for the win Chris managed 2nd with 17 pound it was a good day with a few bites. Shame the other lads couldn’t make it. It was a bit cold but no ice in the lake not a breath of wind lovely day so took the money the side bets and headed home stopping off for a lovely fish supper from papas yum yum. Hope everyone had a great xmas and have a good new year thanks for reading πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Hls xmas match emerald jade

Got to the 37 club in plenty of time for the draw and some good banter flying round nice to see some old faces. There were 33 fishing I think spread over 3 pools everyone wanted jade as it’s full of skimmers I was also hoping for jade went into the draw quite late and pulled 2 on jade lovely nice ish corner peg the best news was big mouth phil beards was other end of the complexπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ and I thought I would easily take a pound off him and Shaun larkham !!!!
I was penned in by nice pair of coffin dodgers lovely blokes didn’t know there names and I could see steve king on the point least I could keep an eye on him.
Plan was fish expanders over micro short at top 4 and maybe top 6 corn down the edge at 13m and maggot to the aireator also 13m at the all in I fed a small cup micro top 4 and pinged some mags to the aireator with the catty and some corn down the left went in on expander at top 4 for 15 fruitless minutes all the while pinging mags at the aireator and corn down the left periodically so next step cad pot a few micros and expands at top 6 15 mins not a sniff so looked like I was gonna have to go to aireator which I didn’t want to because of lack of space behind me I had to double break down my pole on the 6 and 7 joint every time 😱😱😱 having a look round only one I could see catching was steve 🀴 on the point bagging on small skimmers with the odd better one right hope this mag line bloody works I thought to myself πŸ€” and it did stayed on this line for most of the match putting 36 skimmers in the net from 2 oz to 3lb lovely plenty of bites I did land a carp of that line aswell but as soon as steve saw me have a carp he was down his edge and into one then me being my competitive self tried to get one and me and steve had a good battle with the silvers and the carp where I should have just stuck it out for silvers but all the while we had a bit of banter as he lost a foul hooker and sneaked another in his net without me noticing but still was a good day I did have a carp on the corn down the edge but then wasted time trying to get another. So at the weigh in I’ve put 19.15 of silvers and 12.13 of carp on the scales but unfortunately steve won the battle 😩😩😩 never mind was a good day back to the 37 club for prizes which were good I won a crate of beer box of biscuit and some after eights and 2 nuggets to be fair big mouth give him his due payed up instantly meanwhile sneaky shaun larkham was trying to get out of the pound eventually after a good battle I prized it off him πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I have enjoyed my time with the hls and wish them all the best. I am not rejoining next year as have a busy year ahead and only fished with them a couple of times this year. Hope everyone had a great weekend thanks for reading FISH ON !!!!🎣🎣🎣

Final round of my series Sedges brick

Well at the draw kept quiet for a change didn’t wanna jinx anything and went last in the bucket pulled peg 6
was confident of a few fish and hopefully the section!!! Plan was bomb and pellet to the rope soft pellet over 4mm at 13m and 6m at the all in fed my lines sparingly then I’ve chucked the bomb out with nothing to show for it in the first hour except a few liners I tried my pole lines 10 mins or so went by and I’ve hooked a carp gently gently eased it back nice plump 8 pounder in the net πŸ‘Š stayed on that 13m line landing 2 skimmers and then losing a carp at the net 😑😑😑😑 then I was struggling again back out on the bomb as Emma drysdale had a couple in quick succession and I’ve had a wrap round lovely another plump 8 pounder ish then back out again had a big drop back picked up and squeezed another slightly smaller carp in the net after a hefty battle it was foul hooked under the pec. Then it was a struggle couldn’t really buy a bite on any of my lines 😱😱😱 Emma seemed to have creeped in front of me now and I was proper struggling last hour now and i fed a big pot of pellet on both my pole lines 30 mins before and I’ve gone in on the 13 m line had another good carp then lost a flying skimmer!!!! Couldn’t buy a bite anywhere decided to try my short line which I hadn’t had as much as a liner all day and as soon as the float settled it’s buried nice skimmer around 2 pound gone in again buried straight away then it came off 😭😭😭 and that was the end of that new I’d lost it !!! As could see Mark Thorne peg 11 and russ peck peg 12 goin fish for fish all day but looked like Mark was winning the battle. And I thought Emma was still in front. There’s my pretty motion less tip!!!! Right so packed up pretty quick and joined jonny page to start weighing he was on peg 1 and before the match he laid down a £10 bet but jonny struggled in peg 1 just foul hooking 1 fish all day cheers Jon πŸ˜‚ are section was pretty tough jim and dave struggled also then Emma weighed in 40 pound + then me 36 pound not good enough 2 nd in section my lost fish have cost me dear 😑😑😑 only hope was russ beating Mark in there section but that was not to be either Mark won the match section and league with 115 pound and russ (double decker pecker ) got the section money by default narrowly being beaten he weighed 113 pound but I must say what a battle it was watching them go fish for fish but mark in the corner peg was always gonna be favourite. Silvers went to lee Williams with 16 pound . So top 3 in the league was
1st Mark Thorne with 5pts
2nd me with 5 pts
3rd emma drysdale with 6pts
And overall silvers winner was Ron stark with 60 odd pound of silvers over the 5 matches
Thanks to everyone who fished and turned up every round and thanks to Jamie cook and mike Ducket for hosting our matches and thanks to Ron stark for doing all the calculations of the league .
Not gonna lie I’m gutted I’ve shit out 😑😑😑😑😱😱😱😭😭😭😭but all credit to Mark Thorne sneaking up the leader board. Looking back I messed up at landsend (worst result all year ) but hey ho on to the next one  thanks for reading I will post the final league positions tomorrow on match fishing south west πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Culpins calamities rnd 4 landsend speci and match

Short and sweet this one!!!!! Wheels fell off today ☹️
Went in full of confidence plan was just go in gently gently not a lot of bait and wait. Drew peg 34 speci really fancied the peg for a few looked good bit of wind blowing in but it was just not to be 2 hours in and I hadn’t had a bite been over the far bank down the edges and down middle couldn’t buy a bite anywhere there was fish moving by the aireator so got off me box set the bomb up and nothing on it not even a twitch. Managed to sneak 2 small roach down the middle and 2 small skimmers my overall weight was 1 pound dead 😑😑😑 last in section got bashed up by lee (des )Phillips off the next peg who won the match with 57 pound odd so he got one of his quids back off me I’m glad really cos it was getting a bit embarrassing taking his pound every week.well done lee πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Anyway for most it had fished hard Jamie Hughes or steve Howell  won his section with 5o odd pound  and lee Williams also won his section with 50 odd pound Ron stark won silvers with 11.14 beating steve Howell by 1 oz winter is definitely here I had to give Mark Thorne a pound also and lee Phillips and Jonny page and steve Howell but as me steve are sharing winnings his winnings paid for me and the Mrs  tea cheers mate papas was lovely πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ so really gotta get my head Down final round 🀞🀞🀞thanks for reading hope everyone had a better weekend than me πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ no pics phone died ☹️☹️

Culpins calamities rnd 3 Sedges tile

Didn’t know what to expect with the weather so was prepped for worst!!! Wanted to draw anywhere wind of my back so 21 to 30 or I would’ve taken 40 😜. But it wasn’t to be 2nd to last in the bucket I pulled out peg 36 great howling wind in my face all day with heavy showers. At times I thought I was on the titanic!!πŸ˜‚ anyways plan was simple expanders over 4mm top 7 at 11 o clock and meat at same range at 2 o’clock and method to island. For company I had emma drysdale to my left which would be a good battle as we were joint top and I been winding her up saying I was gonna bash her up πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ other side of me was guest Ricky mills. At the all in I fed my 2 pole lines and went straight in on the pellet 10 fruitless minutes passed by little dink on the float and I’ve struck into s small skimmer not what I was after but will take anything. In the first hour put 4 of these little bliters in the net and was going knowhere fast so thought I would try the meat line nothing doing on that so out with the method with some dodgey casting some goin into Ricky’s peg and the bush on island and method breaking up in flight 😱😱😑😑 I finally got my act together and started hitting the spot but to no avail just liners and little plucks. 2 hours in now couldn’t get a bite anywhere and it started hammering down great what am I gonna do??? Couldn’t see a lot happening elsewhere so just stuck on my lines rotating them finally had a carp on my pellet swim and then a foul hooked on the meat which snapped me up 😑😑😫😫 it was gonna be one of those days in the end I managed 2 more carp and 3 more skimmers it was rock hard with the wind making presentation difficult but I’m not one to moan I soldiered on πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ 3 pm I felt like packing up !! 430 finally came round and I shouted all out packed up like lightning and got round to start weighing in round the other side it was like a different world warm and calm they caught shallow and on method as it turned out Simon ryall won the match with 119 pound Adrian Jeffries 2nd with 106 and Chris zacks 3rd with 102 pound Ron stark won the silvers with 8 pound. I managed to beat Emma from next door with 31 pound and I took the 1 section point as Chris zacks guest doesn’t count in the league although he picked up section money πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ so 3 rounds in 3 points very happy with that emma drysdale was not so happy I was giving her some stick as I put her fish back after weighing then she nearly pushed me in and only just saved me then made a very sharp exit it’s only a bit of banter emma πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚  roll on November the 5th round 4 landsend all to play for no pics weather was rubbish.. hope everyone had a great weekend and well done to all the people who fished and battled with Brian thanks for reading πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ

Culpins calamities autumn series rnd 2 sedges brick

So it was rnd 2 of this little 17 man league and after starting well in rnd 1 was hoping for another section win. After sorting all the monies and a quick cuppa it was draw Time fancied a corner but pulled 17 pretty much middle of the lake  on arrival to the peg there was some bubbling going on at top 6 at 10 o'clock thought this would be my meat line I also had a pellet line at 2 o'clock same range. Also set up bomb for towards the rope and fished it conker style and had pellet wag for over the top. To my left I had jim Doughty and to the right πŸ₯œ steve Howell so we would have some banter at the all in I've gone in short on the meat line after 15 mins slipped the net under a good skimmer not what I was after but still 2 pound in the net . After another 15 more mins with no action I chucked the bomb out where I had been catapulting 8mm screttings second cast and it's gone round skimmer about a pound come on where's the carps !!!! Stayed on this line most of the day really had 1 carp on pellet wag and 1 on the meat line but it was a struggle not a lot was happening In are section so was quite happy just picking off odd fish steve to my right looked to be doing well on the silvers and so it proved as he won the silvers with 25 pound odd. I also foul hooked a good eel that was another 2 pound in the net but did cost me a hooklength 😑😭 dave white who was guesting today came to the scales with a good fish of 15.4 oz and said that was his 18th carp with a big grin knowing he was gonna take a pound off me πŸ˜«πŸ˜«πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ never mind come the end I called the all in and me clicker said 55 pound ish on to the weighing in section 1 to 6 was won by jonny page with 69 ish pounds section 8 to 13 was won by dave white who won the match with 150 pound odd and I won my section comfortably with 60 odd pound and steve howler Howell won the silvers as we are sharing monies on this series we both took home £50 so quite happy really emma drysdale won her section by default with 70 odd pound it did fish quite hard today with bright sunshine and not much wind. There was only one did not weigh ray bass oh dear !!!! But his peg was full of algae or some piss pour excuse πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ and floating meat !!!!!! Think most enjoyed the day tho next one in 2 weeks sedges tile hopefully I can get another section win or hopefully more 🀞🀞sorry no pics I forgot big thanks to Jamie and Denise at the fishery for accomadating us and to ron stark doing the thank less task of the paper work points scores weights. Hope everyone had a great weekend and thanks for reading 🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣

Culpins calamities autumn series rnd 1

Landsend was first venue of my first series running before I start just like to thank Tony rixon for guesting today for Martin hale and for picking the pegs for us as he knows the venue well and to ron starks admin skills πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
17 booked on and we were spread across lakes 1 and 3
2 sections of 6 and 1 of 5 . Into the draw last and I've pulled 28 specie never fished this lake before but just had the attitude of there prestty much the same so plan was banded pellet across meat down the left to the pallet and mags over gb to right pallet and a top 6 line on the deck with pellets . At the all in I've fed all the lines and started chucking an 8mm banded around in a couple of spots after 10 mins of waving it around fish on and In The net around 7 pound lovely bit of feed and try again. But not a lot was happening so I went down the middle on expanders just some tiny roach and small skimmers. Had a look down the left on the meat and this is where the damage was done took 7 good fish from the left hand edge not fast and furious just slow and steady then it died tried the right was getting bitted out tiny perch and between 130 and 230 couldn't get a bite anywhere so I thought sh t or bust I put 5 pots full of groundbait and 6 mms down middle and persisted trying to get bites from my other areas but nothing was happening last hour now and it's started bubbling down middle so 6mm expander on the hook and finished the day off with 4 more carp lovely didn't think I'd have enough for anywhere really just a nice days fishing bit frustrating at times. I thought lake 3 would win the match but weighed are 6 pegs in and Adrian Jeffries was winning with 91 pound and I didn't think I'd have that but round to me and I've tipped the scales to 94 pound bargain section win nice start πŸ‘πŸ‘ then word came down from the other lake it's fished rock hard emma drysdale had top weight of 60 odd pound winner winner chicken dinner won the match lovely and claimed some nuggets Wayne staples mark Thorne jonny page steve Howell lee Phillips  and Tony rixon πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ only gutter was having to go halves on the winnings with πŸ₯œ steve Howell but he did pay for me dinner the other week with his winnings so swings and roundabouts πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ hope everyone enjoyed the day and it wasn't too much of a calamity only the moaning from emma drysdale about the scales but just a lil teething problem will be sorted next time  looking forward to round 2 sedges brick in 2 weeks and am looking for 2 subs 1 for Adrian Jeffries and Simon ryall if u would like to fish pls get in touch many thanks to everyone for coming and thanks for reading hope u all had a great weekend 🎣🎣🎣

Weston aa chairmans cup away day

Been looking forward to a day off work and a days fishing we hoped that Walters lake south cerney would fish better than last time as most struggledπŸ€”πŸ€”.
Anyway most of us made it to the fishery on time but unfortunately 3 got proper stuck in the jam and ended up turning round and emptied plantation!!!! So I was £2 down already 😜😜. But anyway bit of breakfast nice but not enough probably a 2 on the rixon scale πŸ‘πŸ‘ we had the middle run again and we all wanted to draw the far end after sum good banter in the car park it was draw time I went in first pulled 13 white on arrival I was quite happy as had had a gap in the islands. Plan was method over there with micros and a white bandem to start I also plumbed up top 6 and 2 edges at the all in I fed 5 satsumas via the cup and constantly chucked 4 or 5 casters over it after an hour and two lost fish on the method I went in over gb double maggot and float buried in the second hour I put about a pound of tiny roach and perch in the net probably 20 fish or so I kept at this for a bit longer still pinging caster but I changed hook bait to juicy worm head to try and gain better fish had a couple more perch then a foul hooked football shaped carp of about 4 pound went in the net bargain straight out again on the deck for now !!! Had a couple more in the mouth tho this time then started getting the shallow signs lot of bubbles the odd swirl and a lot of liners right it's time out came the shallow rig I don't mess around they will have it or they won't πŸ‘ŠπŸ‘Š still pinging like a machine with my left armπŸ’ͺ treble caster size 16 xs hook to 0.15 fluro to 0.17 fluro mainline and a des 🚒 inline dibber 5x 12 white hydro started of at 18 inches but this was too deep as had two foul hookers shallower up to aroun 12 inches and so it began wasn't fast and furious but little spells off two or 3 fish had to go back on the deck a couple of times but still caught there! !! Funny fish there's a lot of football mirrors in there around 4 to 7 pound and they fight like stink !!! There was white hydro flying around me peg to the far bank and all over the place πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ and still pinging the casters in trying to que them up had a bit of a mental spell with about an hour to go I dropped me bait right in front of a big common and he took it like a dream it fought like a Trojan he came to my net at least 6 times and every time I went for it he just said bye πŸ‘‹ and swam off the other way I had a bit of a moment with my reserve landing net handle it's 3m not 4m went to net the fish and virtually threw it in as I'm used to a 4 m but that ones at the doctors 😱😱😱😱 anyway I eventually netted the fish and my right arm was aching  but I carried on pinging and catching well I didn't Even go down my edges !!!! I did run out of caster with 30 mins to go so jumped off the box and pinched some off shane pope thanks had a few more and finished with another big common lovely my clicker said 92 pound I'm sure there is something wrong with it πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ word was that no one had a ton so thought I was in with a shout jonny page was on the wind up said he had 60 pound 😫but jonny had 154 pound ray bass had a ton I thought I may get 3rd or second so my silvers went 2 pound net limit was 100 pound today and after being helped out with my net I thought oh dear first way was 43 pound dead second weigh was 57 dead I was a very lucky boy with exactly a ton in one net and my other net had about 48 pound so I ended up having to give the man a fiver well done mate. But never mind I won a pound of steve Howell and shane pope a fiver off matt Thomas and a pound and some good banter with Lewis jones the banter was good at the lake but when we got to the toby carvery we were in stitches we had a great laugh with all the lads a good feed and then a horrible drive home. It was a great day thanks to shane pope for organising it (shoulda gone todber) πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ here's the weigh sheet
My second 150 pound weight this year feels good and feel like I'm getting somewhere always learning!!!

Sedges brick short notice open

Well unfortunately the shiplate teams of 3 had been cancelled on Wednesday due to start today so I called my team mates and a few lads and then booked sedges brick lake then went out of my way to fill it which I did and then was let down by 3 at 8am this morning 😑😑😑😑 never mind!!! Weather didn't look great just hoped to have a days fishing the wind was howling down the bottom end of the lake into pegs 10 and 11. So that's where I wanted to draw but no such luck but I did draw another corner peg 20 I was quite happy with that. Basically I fished my peg all wrong as never had it before I started off ok had a couple of skimmers then foul hooked carp and to be honest I had a bit of a mare lost 7 or 8 carp they came in my edge too late and that was that really I put 46 pound odd on the scales and 6 pound of that were silvers on the plus side tho me and steve Howell(Jamie Hughes)  decided we would share if we won and FairPlay to him he kept his end of the deal he won the silvers with 22 pound so he gave me half his money and a pound πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ he was distraught and I think he's having withdrawals from shiplate πŸ˜±πŸ˜±πŸ˜±πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ any way I had to give a pound to steve Sewell he just missed the money by 2 oz but was 3rd on the day and I had to give my team mate mark Thorne a pound and he won the match with 95 pound I also had to give shane pope a pound for beating me on the silvers never mind he took over doing the board for me as I nearly took 10 pound off his overall weight which wasn't much anyway πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ think most people enjoyed the day we had a good laugh and I did take a pound of lee des Phillips off the next peg again πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Any way my mrs says thanks for the fish n chips mr Howell as you paid for my family's tea tonight mate cheers. I'm gonna try and run a small series on the dates we were supposed to fish shiplate I will post around once I've confirmed venues and stuff here's the results
Big thanks to sedges for taking us at short notice πŸ‘πŸ‘ thanks to everyone who turned up and hope everyone reading had a great weekend.
I'm off to Walters lake south cerney on Thursday for our chairmans cup hopefully have a few nice to have a day off work !!!!!!πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£

Shiplate squircle open match

Well booked on this one with short notice didn't know what to do and a few pals were on it and I've been quite critical of people fishing this pool so I thought I better fish it before opening my mouth any more!!!!
No pics today cos it was quite wet !!! So had a couple of side bets lee (des) Phillips and tom (moley) Wheatley. £ was on πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ into the draw pulled peg 8 on the straight on arrival to the peg I was greeted with about 10 m across so I tried to plumb a few spots across this didn't go well snagged up lost whole rig and plummet πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ finally found a spot over there which I thought was clear. Did a line down the middle and left hand edge. Long story short I've gone across had a small carp about a pound then more calamities with two messed up rigs so pretty much scrapped that line I then went down the middle fishing double mag over the mighty tom thick gb I then caught steady on this line all day catching carp gold fish cruisians and roach from 4 oz to a pound had a lil run at the end of small carp and at the scales I put on 29.12 which was enough for third on the day a nice lil pick up well done Julian pinkett winning with 40 odd pound and Gordon (golly) jones on 2nd. Unlucky des and moley cheers for the nuggets πŸ˜‚that's the ones that got nicked from van the other night πŸ‘ŠπŸ‘Š so that was that stopped off for pappas fish n chips on way home lovely next week it shiplate teams of 3 can't wait for that team the good the bad and the ugly il leave u to decide who's who !!!
Thanks for reading hope everyone had an awesome weekend πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ
Oh one more thing if your confidence is down and u need a few bites or u wanna take the kids go on the squircle at shiplate farm il be honest it's not my cuppa tea but I have enjoyed the day even in the horrendous weather !!!!!!!

Sedges top kit final

Been looking forward to this one for a few weeks nice simple fishing.
Into the draw I wanted 40 as did most I think so gone in pulled 35 oh well middle of the lake have a days fishing and the weather was nice
Plan was shallow pellet as long as I could to the left meat tight down the left soft pellet down middle and worm over gb down the right.
For company had big bob gullick on my left who I layed down the pound challenge night before!!! And Jon dursley to my right had a good bit of banter with bob throughout the day. Any way start shallow for an hour was the plan but I was getting roached out I stuck with it tho and managed a nice carp about 8 pound lovely stuck on the shallow line but nothing worthy was fourth coming so went on the deck with 6mm expander and caught steady for a couple of hours small skimmers and carp to 13.8. At this point I was a fair way ahead of my neighbour but new he would finish strong I just hoped I could keep it up but then 230 came along 2 hours left and I lost a foul hooker and everything turned into a calamity!!! Jonny page walked by with an 18 pound monster said it was his second bite and it was hard then all I could hear was mr gullicks splashing carp and I could not get a bite I snuck a couple out of my right margin then all I could get was liners and foul hookers on all the lines tried shallow and got roached out!!!! Come the end I new mr g had done me as he had 3 weighers and said he had about 90 pound turned out he had over a ton and I had a measley 57 pound which wasn't too bad on are bank but I was around 20 pound away from framing (top 4 ) so never mind jonny page didn't bother weighing in and done a flyer not coughing up £5 πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ and I gave a shiney one to bob well done mate bob got second and ziggy won it off the flyer well done zig never mind onwards and upwards shiplate teams of 3 in a couple of weeks can't wait !!!! I had a nice day and caught a few fish all u can ask for really just a few more needed I did learn a bit and in hindsight did too much with the little space I had to work In really think that's why last two hours were pour πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€” thanks for reading hope everyone had a good bank holiday weekend 🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣

Maver British pole champs hayfield lakes

So I qualified for this a couple of weeks ago and was keen as mustard!!!! But not the 3 half hour drive each way. But it's all experience and you never knowπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ
Bit of a disappointing turnout as there were supposed to be 72 on the match but only about 45 turned up never mind tho. So into the draw I've gone in early pulled peg 5 ment nothing to me bud did look nice

I started short at top 6 on 6mm banded on the deck it's buried straight away I thought I'm gonna empty it 😎2nd put in foul hooked one lost it had a couple skimmers on that line but nothing else I still fed and could see some cruising fish so went long slapped an 8mm in front of one and it took it good as gold but it was a big struggle nothing I tried worked I continued slapping for while and was plagued with roach so could see signs down my two edge lines one short and one long so went on these could not hook a fish so frustrating they were there and I couldn't hit them this has only happened to me twice before acorn and trinity  I didn't know what to do and time was running out I couldn't get a bite I did foul hook and lost a couple that was it tho horn blew behind me and made me jump I was gonna tip back but the scales men where like u gotta weigh in so I put a pathetic 17 pound on the scales. Rob Wooten won my section with 76 pound. So  it was a big thanks for coming 😱😱😱😱never mind just to say what a great venue and staff. I have enjoyed the experience and learnt a bit so onwards and upwards really gonna try and hit a few more big matches next year try and chase the dream I have fished 3 qualifiers this year and enjoyed every single one of them meeting some of the top names in angling and have to say everyone I spoke to all gentleman πŸ‘πŸ‘ well done to local lad mark wynne on coming 3rd awesome result πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ worst bit was the drive home and the funniest bit was the maver match this song listen out for it when u see the final πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ sedges top kit final Monday so hopefully nurse my wounds there if not I might just tie sum bricks to me feet and jump in πŸ˜«πŸ˜«πŸ˜«πŸ˜«πŸ˜«πŸ˜«πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜ŽπŸ˜ŽπŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘thanks for reading and to all the whisperers your right I'm shit πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Maver match this qualifier barston

Well I booked on this match a few months ago after selling some old gear. Was my 3rd big money qualifier of the year.on arrival was a bit over whelmed with the size of the lake never fished anywhere that big!!!i must say it was stunning. So bit of banter with ray bass and a quick look at the lake. Waiting for the draw needed a go on me puffer so went outside and bumped into James dent said hello then lee Kerry appeared from knowhere so I nodded and said mr Kerry !!!!!
Any way back in the que maver man Andy kinder in front and ray said where do u wanna draw and he said 124 so then he's picked a much lower number out and I've pulled 124 and showed him he said good luck u gotta chance from there.. no pressure then !!!

There it is end peg with a lot of unfishable water to the right. Didn't get the pole out had 4 rods set up pellet wag long method short bomb and cage feeder!!! I had a whole host of baits made up gb micro 8mm pellet caster 6mm pellet worm and corn. But I could see fish moving just off the end of the right hand bank which juts out a fair way. At the all in I've chucked the pellet wag at the fish about 25 to 30 m and pinging 8mms like a machine. But didn't have a bite 10 mins ray king next door netted a lump on the wag. I thought sod this il keep pinging and chuck the bomb over it 8mm pellet wrapped in speacial g green paste conker style 3 mins and it wrapped round come on played it gently and eventually eased a nice plump 8 pounder in the net so that settled the nerves and eased the pressure. I pretty much did not stop feeding 8mms with the catty on this line. Next chuck skimmer skimmer then carp carp carp it just kept going round and they fight like stink in the first hour I put just under 40 pound in the net I thought this is it😎😎but bites slowed up a lil bit then not too bad tho I was getting weird little bites then all of a sudden had a proper wrap round and it felt big just plodding around then at the net a proper munter popped up it barely fitted in the net it was around 18 to 22 pound I had to wrestle with it in my landing net to get the hook out πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚anyway the bites seemed to take forever and I thought if it don't go round il go long method but it just kept going round from 12oz to 3 pound skimmers small f1 s around 2 pound which one of them I turned round to get more pellet turned back and me rod was being pulled off the rest and carp from 2 to 12 pound. Absolutely awesome me and the chap next door had some good banter all day asking how much we had on are clickers and commenting about splashing carp. I did lose 3 fish one of which tore off left into his peg but I couldn't do anything about it. Another one hook pulled and the last one just went like a steam train to the right and snapped my hooklength😑😑😑with 10 mins left I didnt want to waste anytime putting a new one on so tried to chuck the Dutch master short which was a task in itself but dropped it in where I was feeding all day and it went round 2 more times for another 6pound in the net.
At the all in packed up and my clicker said 100 pound and so did my neighbors but I had a few in the silvers net and I have been known to under click mind not purposely mind you πŸ˜ƒ. So me and my next door neighbour had to weigh our 10 peg section in me first 150.3 oz Christ didn't think I had that much there's no net limits at barston just split your silvers and carp and be sensible (not over a tonish) I struggled lifting one of my nets out which turned out I had 90 odd pound in πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ‘ŠπŸ‘Š. On to next door and his clicker worked better than mine 101 he had and then the weights diminished down the section
So some pics and back to the club house word was there was 200 pound the other side so I thought I was knowhere near really just the section but speaking to some of the others they said u got second and so it turned out I did was very happy with that picked up £170 quid and qualified for British pole champs that will do nicely had a chat with mark wynne who also won his section and Jon wincup and on me merry way home tunes on loud singing away pretty much all the way home couldn't believe it my biggest achievement in match fishing only in my 3rd year of senior match angling and loving every minute πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ just goes to prove a bit of self belief and a good peg is all it takes one thing I have learned is these big matches can be very much on the draw but u still gotta catch them.
And this is to all the people that whisper behind my back including some friends (don't know why he bothers doing them big matches ) waste of money and time πŸ–•πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚but also a big thank you to all the people I've fished with an against the last few years because I've probably learnt something new every match πŸ‘πŸ‘. Anyway back to reality Monday night small silvers knock up with me pals beaming with confidence I did rubbish had 6 pound lol including a big gold fish and big hybrid but had some good banter I was still buzzing and still am from barston. And looking forward to British pole champs at hayfield Doncaster. Thank you all for reading and all the comments and likes on my fb page tight lines hope everyone had a great weekend

Shiplate mainlake open

Finally managed to get on a shiplate open for there late start late finish match on Sunday. There was talks before the match of records being broken and all sorts usual bit of banter with venue regular steve Howell or Jamie Hughes as I call him!!!!! Nice chat with dave white dave romain and Mark wynne trying to get some info for next week at barston they were very helpful and friendly as usual. So in to the draw peg 4 titch Williams won if there on Thursday before so bit of pressure plan was fish the tip long with method feeder and edge line .at the all in I fed my edge and pinged some caster at top 5 and then chucked the feeder out with nothing to show for it after an hour I tried my caster line Rudd Rudd and Rudd so left that alone then went down the right in front of the tree and started catching and losing carp big ones too !!! I've caught on the deck and shallow there I couldn't keep them
Up or down probably something to do with my feeding pattern πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€” but decided that was my best line stayed there most of the day come the end I've weighed 90.6 for knowhere really but an enjoyable day and learnt a bit I've lost probably 10 to 15 big fish today some foul hookers and some me pulling too hard 😑😑😑😑😫😫😫. Oh well it was a learner well done to mark wynne who took the match record 258 pound and all the framers. I had to give a pound to pagey who had 134 pound off peg 1 but he had a few pound deducted cos he went over in his netπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.
I've not done any blogs lately as not too much to report I qualified for sedges top kit final and had 2 Sundays off but been getting my fix Monday nights me and few mates been having some small knock ups at Ambleside the first one I scraped 26 pound together for second I think no money😫😫 2nd one I won with 46 pound and last night won again with 34 pound!!! But that's just a bit of fun with some good mates. Roll on barston mmt Sunday get my ass whipped by the pros but u never know one day I may draw on some fish and not mess it up πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Psv landsend lake 3 and final evening sweep summerlane

Well Saturday watched the fisho final and watching Jamie hughes and Andy power come back got me in the mood but struggled to get on the ever popular shiplate fishery match which was full and the hls match at viaduct so was scratching so messaged me mucker steve burgess of the Psv club and got on there match at landsend haven't been there for a while. So into the draw pulled 70 in the corner.it was solid with fish cruising everywhere I thought I'm gonna empty it!!! Had a pound with young Ryan who was in the corner opposite and we had a bit banter took some tips the night before from venue expert russ peck so long story short I've tried mugging them in different ways slapping blind cad potting across and paste down the edges best lines were paste down the edges I've caught and lost fish and rigs down the left so moved away a bit then landed some very small carp from there then the right was the best but lost a few before putting some fish together in the last hour. I thought I had about 30 pound come the whistle but was a very tough day at 1 o clock I was nearly tying a noose and heading for a high tree.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚so I decided to help with the weighing being a guest and it appeared that most had a struggle with a chap called Bryan running away with the match weighing 113 pound. Think Ryan had around 60 pound and took my pound with pleasure !!!! Finally the scales reached me and to my surprise I put 40 pound 4 oz on and just scraped 4th place and got my money back bargain. On to the next one!!!
Summerlane finale evening sweep series anything could happen Ron stark was winning with 5 points and myself and 2 pals were joint second goin into the match I had high hopes for a good draw and get amongst the skimmers at the draw I pulled 12 and as soon as I told Mark Thorne he ran off to his peg 11 in my section like a maniac he was faster than ussain bolt and Linford Christy shouting abuse at me telling me to shine my pound and I got no chance. !!! The way he went on I really wanted to beat him now!!! Gone in on worm over caster gb and chop worm and it buried straight away and I safely netted a skimmer around a pound I thought let's have it I'm gonna empty it and beat thorney. But after a small roach or 2 and not a lot else it died and I struggled to get anything but small roach and eel and another small skimmer. I really struggled and feared the worsed and was right thorney won the section and Ron won his so I was left with some more abuse from thorney and give him my pound !!!!!! Lee des Phillips had to give me pound tho so not all was lost!!!! But my top 3 finish was gone 😫😫😫😫never mind that's fishing it's been tough fishing this year but rewarding at the same time and the way Ron ran it was good keeping quite a few in with a shout the presentation was made over the harvester with some good banter and laughs.
The top 3 deserved winners kindly sponsored by local tackle shop fishing tackle warehouse big thanks to gav and dan and middy
Good close matches with lots of banter and a great bunch of lads Sunday sees me at sedges on the top kit series and Monday night knock up at Ambleside. Thanks for reading until next time hope everyone caught a few !!πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£

Acorn Thursday evening match

After missing two weeks decided to go to the last one so layed the £ challenge down to toby he accepted and on arrival Ivan currie fancied a pound and Johnson and mark Thorne 🀞🀞🀞into the draw I've pulled 24 not where I wanted and the peg looked Barron!!!!! But while setting up started to see signs of fish.  Plan was usual caster Shalla  at top 5/6 two edges at top 4 with mags over gb and an across line if I was struggling. Think there was 16 fishing tonight. At the all in fed the edges and started pinging caster in like a machine πŸ’ͺ straight down the edge 5 mags on a 16 guru xs and after 5 mins was playing one. Stayed down the edges for first hour putting around 20 pound in the net had roach perch crucians and carp lovely by this time the caster line was like a bubble bath and could see the odd fish there ITS TIME!!!! So went on it and never looked back really it wasn't fast and furious just steady putting a few in the net but the rain killed it a bit and I ran out of caster so I had to go back to my edges just taking odd fish out the right margin on mags over gb didn't catch fish down the left not sure why cos they were there. At the whistle I thought I had 60 to 70 pound. Didn't think anyone had emptied it so thought I may scrape in the money!!!! I went to the weigh in as approached mark bromsgrove and he had 74 pound odd and was leading oooohhhh was gonna be tight sam didn't weigh in toby had 30 odd Ivan had 40 ish I think so that was 3 lovely pound coins πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ I weighed in 73.12 then round to mark Thorne and I think he put 73.4 on so not enough and another lovely pound from him on to walshy and chapman those two were close mike chapman on the golden peg won with 80 pound Walshy just behind then mark bromsgrove then me gutted just missed the money again but got a few nuggets of me mates and another lovely 3 hours fishing and bit of banter !!!!
Sunday not fishing πŸ˜ͺπŸ˜ͺπŸ˜ͺand Monday night sees the penultimate round of the Weston aa summerlane series where it is still all to play for.. thanks for reading hope everyone has a great weekend.

Bits and bobs been here and there!!

Well sorry for lack of blogs I've been out a few times but had a lot on lately!!! Anyway couple of Sundays ago on the 18th June went to Evesham for the Wychavon qualifier with Sam Johnson it's nice to get on natural venues now and then. Anyway turned out there was 83 fishing and it had fished hard on the Saturday. So we got into the draw early and I pulled 18 a couple up from the bridge in the town.for company had tom scholey from catch more media on 19 had a chat with him really nice guy. Didn't know anyone else and Sam drew the complete opposite end up in the 80s somewhere. Looking at Saturday's results my peg weighed in a pound so I wasn't over joyed with confidence but you never know  I had a load of Lilly's and cabbages in front of me and it was scorching red hot. Long story short I was sweating my nut off and working really hard for small perch and a couple of roach didn't feel I was going anywhere and I wanted to qualify so I went out on the gb feeder hoping for something bigger but it never happened tom scholey to my right weighed 2.6 pound and chap to my left 4 pound I weighed in a pitiful 10 oz in my peg was a nightmare I had a family picnicking behind me and loadsa people and dogs running a round kids throwing stuff in but oh well something different after I weighed made a very quick exit back down the m5 !!!!!!
Then on to Monday night evening sweep down summerlane drew peg 3 and to be honest fancied it for a few but ended up having a very stressful evening bumping and losing carp under the tree down my right hand side it was so frustrating as I had enough bumped and lost enough fish to easily win the match!!! But Jerry day had a good laugh watching me f  ing and blinding. That was the end of that.
Then Thursday was are away day at Walters lake south cerney. Was really hoping for a nice day fishing relaxing never seen the place before I drew 7 blue on arrival was faced with some splashing carp at 17.5 m across
I didn't wanna fish long on pole so opted for small method across, caster shallow at top 6 and my two edges.hour in and I hadn't had a bite except liners on method. Saw a few fish on my caster line tried it to no avail but was getting signs of fish but they wouldn't take the bait. I was now scratching my head so set a bottom line up there where I had been feeding for silvers and knocked up some gb and it was a mare every time I went on the deep rig there was fish shallow so switch to the shallow rig nothing changed baits hooks and all sorts I did finally hook one that pinged off then I had a small roach!!! Seemed every one was struggling it was now the last hour and I'd had 1 roach it was embarrassing but edge time gone down the left on the paste couple of twitches and buried and was finally playing a nice fish about 7 pound gone straight in again and I foul hooked another and that was it game over another tough session😑😑😑I'd really had enough now but we went for a carvery after and had some nice grub and some good banter.
So after having 3 bad matches in a row weekend off the fishing to get over the stress !!!!!!
So Sunday night after kids gone to bed sort my kit for Monday night silvers only summerlane evening sweep done some expanders made 3 rigs and tied 20 hooklengths up on the gizmo zt pro hook tyer which is an awesome bit of kit. At the draw I kept pretty quite for a change and stayed back till the end second from last choice peg 18 carp flyer !!! Ere we go again I thought! On arrival at the peg there was big plooms of mud coming up all over the peg and it was like a bubble bath of carp soup 😑😑😑 so anyway stick to the plan 11 m straight out gb caster worm to the right expander over micro and maggot on the drop at 6m to the right. First put in float buried carp giving me the right run around on yellow hydro and 0.11 bottom but got it in and it was foul hooked in the pec !!!! Second drop carp bloody hell. So tried the expander line one small roach the bubbling had calmed down back on to the worm and had 3 boot lace eels and a skimmer. Christopher the jinx zackacs popped by and while he was there all I did was bump and lose fish so he chipped off then I had a couple but was slow put a couple of roach in the net on the mags and lost 2 carp bloody things !!!! Last ten mins back on the worm line carp then another I just pulled hard for a break and they abliged it was now 13 mins past 9 I needed more straight away had a skimmer without baiting or anything straight back out quick as possible and had another one just as I un hooked the fish all in was called at 9:15 what a frantic end to the match wish I could of carried on. I ended up with 5 skimmers and some bits to just win my section by 8 oz thank god as I needed a result and it does pay never give up 7.10 was my weight and that was 3rd on the night needed that as my pound coins have been going astray lately but managed to claw a few back.😜😜here's the standings in our little series with 2 matches left it's all to play for
Thanks for reading hopefully start getting amongst it again now !!!!!!

Brief summary sedges top kit and summerlane evening silvers

Right on Sunday it was sedges rnd 2 top kit series was hoping for another flyer in the shape of a corner peg as I won the first round from peg 40. So into the draw peg 35 bang in the middle 😑😑 plan was meat down the left by the tree pellet over pellet in front and all sorts down the right !! Had wind blowing in my face all day making presentation difficult but I soldiered on!!! After hooking the near shelf several times in the first hour pretty much biteless didn't know what to do !!!! As u don't have many options on just a top kit !!! After watching Ron stark have a busy first hour I was tearing my hair out. Tried my edges nothing doing so re plumbed come up the shelf a bit and started throwing pellets regular and started to get a few bites missed one then had a skimmer and a couple of small roach then a carp in the tail !!!!! Just stuck on that line pretty much had a few lifting and dropping they were shallow cos kept getting liners and foul hookers but when I went shallow couldn't get a bite so just kept lifting and dropping in the last 30 mins it was solid but too late I had a nice tench down the edge on punch meat and that was it!!! So I weighed in a pretty poor 33.10 oz for knowhere I didn't hang about paid jonny page a pound and chipped off Jamie cook won off 21. Don't know how many points I got but 5th had 55 pound so guessing around 10th ish out of 20 so onto the next one oh there was no moaning from Jon fuidge this week he was out of hearing range today πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.but he did beat me !!! Well done to all 🎣🎣🎣🎣🐟🐟
So summerlane evening series on Monday night 15 fishing so good turnout won me section last week so was hoping same again I drew peg 7 which is good silvers peg I was happy with that but had a tough section with venue expert mark Thorne on 9 martin hale on 10 shaun partridge on 20 and Martin Silcox on 10. Good banter flying round all evening at the all in I wasn't ready I set up 2 rigs and wanted to set feeder up but didn't cos lack of time that was my first mistake !!!
Then I've sat on expanders for 20 mins missed a couple bites second mistake!!!
Then went on my gb worm and caster line had nice perch lovely then some small roach and finally a proper skimmer but couldn't keep them coming I've had a couple more eventually between landing and losing some big carp !!! Then the eels moved in foul hooked one then one in the mouth and then lost one to the silt 😑😑hopefully my few bits would be enough 😱😱😱🀞🀞🀞but it wasn't Martin hale won the match with 10 pound odd mark had 9 odd shaun pipped me by 10 oz I think so I only beat one in my five pegs with 7.3 😑😑😑oh well that's my dropper but learnt a bit for 2 weeks Time thanks to golly who lent me a bag of gb and dan and gav at fishing tackle warehouse for the quality serviceπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œalso thanks to matt Thomas for another pound and lee Phillips but had to give one to the summerlane smasher mark Thorne !!!!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚thanks for reading onwards and upwards might go acorn Thursday night but not sure as going Evesham Sunday for a nice change on the Wychavon qualifier bit of river fishing hopefully fluke a result would be nice 😜😜

Acorn evening match 6

Well after last weeks win was keen as mustard to get back to the lovely acorn fishery shame the traffic was a mare but made it in the end with a few mins to spare. Wasn't to sure how it would fish but plan was simple fish maggot and gb down the edges and trusty caster at top 5. 12 fishing tonight so not the great turn out of last week but still a nice lil comp plenty of space.couple of lads I know Lewis one leg jones was helped to his peg by his mate. And lee Phillips and the regular crowd pretty much!!!! In to the draw and I've pulled peg 12 where I drew in the 1st match and got battered either side by bartman and paul Nichols.hopefully do better Lewis jones drew the peg I won from last week so was a bit worried as he's been known to catch a few round the south west !!!!!!
Weather didn't know what it was doing wind rain sun everything was in the mix. At the all in I've fed my lines pinged a few caster. And gone straight in shallow on the caster I did this as there seemed to be fish around but I was biteless for ten mins until I swung in a lil roach not what I was after I should of left it and fished the edges first but there was signs of fish so I perserveered on the caster shallow line. Started getting the odd fish but dangerous dan on 10 was having a few on the method !!!! By the first hour I probably had 20 pound they didn't seem to want it but they were there so I just carried on changing depths from 6 inches all the way to 2ft but when I went deeper just had liners and small roach. Adrian mercato and his lad come and sat behind me for a while so a good chat and laugh and a few more were caught and a couple of foul hookers lost 😑😑😑never mind I went down my edges a few times only getting liners and a couple of foul hookers.in to the last hour now and the wind died and an abundance of scum came and settled infront of me and the carp just seemed to be slurping it off the surface so when in reach I dropped my bait in there mouths or just in front and it was nailed a few times even picked off a nice ghosty that way. Dan seemed to slow down not saw him net much but kev perry on 8 looked like he was bagging. At the all out I guessed on 50 pound but wasn't sure so let adge have a sit and dangle on me pole while I packed up!!! Didn't think I'd be close. But I had to wait till last to find out!!! Thanks toby Parker lol!!! So packed up and followed the weigh in looked like most struggled but everyone caught fish we got round to Lewis jones and he put 67 pound on the scales and I didn't think I had that well done mate I said it's awesome fishing for 3 hours. Then chris fox had 92.13 I definitely didn't have that and then kev perry put 94.12 on to win the match. Then it was my turn i put on 71.01 oz on for 3rd quite happy with that shame I didn't get in the money but oh well. Well done to the two that beat me by a good 20 pound odd and well done to all that fished except pal lee Phillips who had a mare and had to give me another pound πŸ‘ŠπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ cheers mate . Sunday I will be at sedges hoping for a flyer again in the top kit series. 🎣🎣🎣🎣thanks for reading πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Weston aa summerlane evening sweep series rnd 1

Well 14 of Weston's finest turned up eventually for the draw there was talk of which flyers everyone wanted and some good banter flying round the car park. I sneaked into the draw fairly early hoping for 1.10.11.18 or 13 as these are the flyers usually.
I pulled 12 😫😫😫got to the peg and wind and rain was howling in to it in my face there was trees coming down and floating around everywhere. Only bonus was only 4 in my section so 3 to beat. Thought it was just gonna be one rod job but with wind blowing in left hand edge looked good. So just set up one rig for 2 spots one at top 5 and a half and one 14.5 m and the method. At the allin I fed both pole lines sparingly short one pellet and corn long one meat. So went in on the short one single corn and thought I would sit on it for 15 mins 10 mins passed by and out of knowhere float buried struck and a solid lump sat there I thought I was snagged and then the slowest carp in history plodded around my keepnets for 5 mins then surfaced and slipped the net under a plump 10 pound common 😊 lovely!!! So re fed and went long on meat nothing there yet. So came short nothing. Chucked the method out and wind was a pain along with trees had a few chucks nothing so left the rod alone fed pellet and corn long and sat on it fighting with my pole in the wind then eventually had a bite lifted pulled hard right then started shipping back and fish gone hook pulled doh!!😑😑😑re fed tried again had a real quite match no indications oh dear. Sean partridge on my right had 3 small carp and eel and skimmer so thought I was out of the running.  went short after a while had a bite struck fish gone mental played it best I could then ping it was foul hooked I was left with a scale πŸ˜ͺπŸ˜ͺπŸ˜ͺ so went long floats gone and boom a nice 8 pounder in net come on !!!!! But that was about it really couldn't see other two pegs but thought me and Sean were close at the all in he had a fish and I thought if he gets it he's beat me  so I'm stood up shouting come off come off πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚low and behold it snagged him in the bush and come off thank god !!!!!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ at the weigh in my 2 fish gone 18. 10 for the section win Sean put 15 on so that fish would have beat me πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚cheers well done to Wayne winning the match with 55 pound and taking a pound off me my 2 fish gave me 3rd place overall and more importantly section win and some side bet pound coins from mark (summerlane)Thorne lee (des) Phillips and new kid on the block matt Thomas πŸ˜‚ FairPlay to everyone who braved the weather and still putting on a good bit of banter !!!!! Roll on Thursday at acorn and Sunday at sedges thanks for reading tight lines 🐟🐟🐟🎣🎣🎣🎣

Acorn evening match 5

Usual rush round like a loon to get work done get kit and head to the fishery in time for the draw. 18 booked on tonight.mark Bartlett fishing again paul Nichols back and a few pals this week lee (des) Phillips.moley.martin Hale Sam Johnson few other people I've met through fishing but no ivan currie thought he must of been scared of giving me another pound 😜. Anyway into the draw I wanted anywhere but up the top as it's not done great in these evening matches. I pulled 38 wasn't too sure about the peg and confidence was falling out of me with the amount fishing tonight and then mr Bartlett rocked up next door who absolutely battered me from the next peg in the 1st match oh well do what I set out to do!!! That's Shawn kittridge across a peg up from where he beat me from last weekπŸ‘Š. Right plan was feed caster at top 5 and nick a couple down the edge to start at the all in fed a small ball of sensas black lake (all I had )down the edge with a few mags in. Pinged caster out in front like a machine from the off πŸ’ͺ 4 at a time and didn't do anything over the far bank as wanted to catch short as possible would only go over there if desperate! So first puttin down the edge twitch twitch boom a nice plump lil 4 pounder in the net settled me In nicely fed edge again and constantly spraying caster in front started to see signs of fish there. Had another look down the right but was getting ragged out by small fish😫😫right now it's time onto the hook put 2 whitish casters on and a dark one couple of minutes past by and boom an angry carp shot out me peg still feeding like a machine whilst playing the fish and a bit of banter with the England big carp supremo next door another one in the net the sport wasn't fast and furious but steady I kept changing depths to find quicker bites and I would get spells of 2 or 3 fish in quick succession.then nothing for what seemed like forever. First hour gone now and reckoned I had 25 pound in the net. Need more faster!!! The wind died off then and ripple stoped and the bites dried up a lil bit but undeterred those caster were going in!!!! I mugged a couple had a couple of roach and Rudd tried a bit deeper and struck a tiny perch out of the water poor lil fella. So back shallow and the fish started coming thick and fast and was getting some proper fish now upto 8 pound ish and smaller f1s in the mix I didn't care was having a nice evening. The last 15 mins couldn't get the rig back in quick enough was solid.πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒso the all in was called and mark shouted have you seen anyone catching I said no not really not in numbers Adrian mercato came along and said he'd packed up early and that they struggled up the top mr kittridge didn't seem to be doin a lot all match and couldn't see many others so fingers crossed 🀞 didn't know what I had as lost count again and didn't get clicker out. I reckoned 60 to 70 but I'm rubbish with weights. So chucked the kit in the van and joined the weigh in des Phillips was leading the pack with 35 pound. Everyone saying I've won already what u got??? I went round with the weigh having a giggle and a bit of banter with everyone and it had fished rock hard compared to previous weeks!! But not for me 😜😜😜 everyone gathered around as I pulled my nets out silvers 1st had a pound of them then with me carp tipped the scales round to 90.10oz get in there was only 3 more to weigh but they didn't have enough thank god.i was using a Preston inline dibber 4x12 with Preston reflo fluro in 0.17 to a 0.15 bottom.guru xs 16 hook.all complemented by white hydro.
All in all was feeling very happy with the result it's taken me long enough but been getting closer every week took some welcome pound coins from Shawn kittridge sam Johnson lee Phillips and toby Parker cheers lads bit disappointed Ivan wasn't out to play hope all is well!!
So another great evening at acorn with some good lads and I've gone home with some achey arms and a big grin again and few notes in the wallet.
Fishing is brilliant when you win you feel amazing when your close to the frame you can try learn more and get yourself up there but only takes one or two bad matches and find yourself thinking golf shall I ???? Never !!!!!!! 😜😜😜😜thanks for reading 🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟

Acorn evening match 4

Well nearly through a full stressful week at work it was time for an evening doing what I love ❤️.
Weather been scorching been rushing round everywhere job to job blah blah blah 🎻🎻🎻🎻
Rushed home got me gear and rushed to the lovely acorn fishery just on the out skirts of yatton
Feel I've been getting to grips with the venue getting better results the last few weeks so none of me regular fishing pals were in tonight sam Johnson working and lee Phillips decided to dig hole in his garden and don't think he was aloud out till it was sorted πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
So a pound with friend and Irish bagger Ivan currie (Ivan's angle) and I thought I got a spare one so challenged toby Parker top dog at Cadbury angling!!! Mine and Tobes weights been close in recent weeks so could be interesting in to the draw I've pulled out 35 I didn't care where I was as I was confident of catching anywhere as feel I figured it out last week so 95% of my approach was based on this. On arrival at my peg there was an old boy who had been fishing peg 34 all day and catching well down his left on paste so I would start down there where he left off while priming my main attack. I set up a rig for across one at top 5 and one for the right just be for the all in there was a bloke they call lobster in 33 decided to come over to me and start shouting across to venue regular Mike chapman 😑😑😑what u doin lobster ??? .
Any way I could see mike across on 2 shaun kitteridge just past him toby in the distance to the left and mark Walsh to my right.
At the all in just about ready cup of gb down the right start spraying bait at top 5 and a cup of pellet across. Then straight in with a big ball of paste down the right 2 twitches and then float buried boom black hydro doing the job nicely after a little scuffle an angry lil 4 pounder was in the net. Straight back down there I was.where there's one there's 2 I hoped float twitching but not burying and I struck and saw a baby carp come flying out literally a few oz oh dear I persisted with this for a few minutes but felt I was plagued with baby carp so try there later.. on to the top 5 couple of roach and Rudd straight away then carp and f1s were coming thick and fast had little spells of 2s and 3s and roach and tiny perch in between but they were all small averaging 2 pound and could see others catching and thought they were getting better fish except mike chapman who looked like he was tiddler bashing!!!! But stuck with it hoping the bigger ones would move in I did foul hook a couple which ruined my peg for a while but I worked through it and got the fish back in to the last hour now and every time I looked right mark Walsh looked to be catching well I just hoped I could get some proper fish. I kept plugging away and finally better stamp of fish arrived putting some nice 5 to 8 pounders in the net. The all in was called and I thought (hoped) I was somewhere near the top as I had a really busy enjoyable 3 hours fishing trashed 3 rigs which cost me a bit of time but that's fishing be prepared. I really didn't know what I had in my nets guessed over 60 but no clicker and can't count past 30 πŸ˜‚ packed away a bit lively and joined the weigh mike chapman peg 2 had put 114 pound well I not got that I thought let's hope for 2nd Shaun then weighed 89. 10 I don't think I've got that either oh well still happy with a nice evening toby then weighed in 55 ish I think 5 pound more than last time well done mate but cheers for the £ 😜. Got round to mr currie and he had a hard evening so another nugget was coming my way cheers iv πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ then mark Walsh missed out on the ton by a few oz. all on the paste. Bromsgrove and lobster had a few also then on to me did I have enough ????? Did I f....k!!!!!! Awesome fishing just needed a few more bigger ones I tipped the scales round to 80lb 9oz for 4th didn't care had a wicked evening with some top lads. Took home 2 shiny pound coins, a big smile and 2 achey arms one from feeding like a machine πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺother from hauling !!! Thanks for reading tight lines πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŸπŸŸπŸŸπŸŸπŸ‘Š

Acorn evening match 3

Rushed around like usual to get to the fishery in time pre arranged a pound with Ivan currie (Ivan's angle) Sam Johnson was back this week.so in to pay the monies how many fishing Tobes??? 8 maybe 10 he said ok there was no sign of paul Nichols or mark Bartlett tonight. Draw time peg 1 was golden peg I got in the draw 1st and pulled peg 17 meant nothing but mr Nichols won I think from this peg in the 1st match or very close to this peg !!!
On inspection there were fish showing all over the peg so the plan start across gently just cad pot a lil bit in and ping casters at top 5/6 and fish shallow also had a rig for either side edge. 10 to 6 and me and Sam Johnson were ready
Here was my peg  so the all in was called at 6 and across I went after 5 mins nothing to show for me efforts across except a couple of liners kept pinging caster at top 5 like a machine πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ‘Šand went down the edges as could see they were there after frustrating few mins of liners and a foul hooker coming off there was activity on the caster line so really needed it to work as I could see elastic being stretched from most pegs.
Slapped the caster in couple of nibbles then float buried I struck and a small Rudd came flying out the water !!!  In again carp this time but I got a bit excited and pulled to hard it came off least they were there I stuck at this line for the next hour putting 7 or 8 carp in the net a skimmer and a roach but then I ran out of caster only taking a pint with me left over from Sunday I'd fed it all and the bites were drying up I started feeding 4mm pellet over it now and down the edges but struggled really from then on in only taking a couple more fish one down the left also. As the weigh in came round 98 pound was winning off peg 1 I didn't have that know where near at the scales my fish went 54. 11 not too bad just enough to take a pound of mr Ivan currie and Sam Johnson tipped back so gotta couple of quid back and came 3rd I felt if I had more caster could of maybe got in the money (top 2 ) never mind a nice evenings fishing with some good lads beats watching emmerdale !!!!!!
Sunday puts me at summerlane our local park lake this sees me organising my 1st match for the Weston club 🀞everyone has a good day thanks for reading

Sedges top kit series rnd 1

Well only booked on this one earlier in the week I took the last spot in group a looking around this morning bob guilick the four acre brothers the claps alvin jones Nigel garret Jon fuidge Dominic Sullivan jonny page ziggy Jamie cook πŸ€”πŸ€”gonna be a tough one to crack oh well hope for a flyer!!!
Jumped in the draw quite early pulled peg 40 a corner that's a start.
So got to the peg no wind was all blowing down to 31 with ziggy on. Didn't really bother me still thought I had a chance πŸ˜ƒso as I'm setting up just getting some water for my pellets and caster slipped and dived in head first the whole of my right side was soaked I struggled to get out and just saved my phone nobody really saw me go but when I got out told jon fuidge who had a giggle and so did I I was ready for the all in with plenty of time to spare so jonny page and Dominic turned up bit of a chat they said don't fancy it here as no wind ziggy will do better !!! Undeterred I stuck to my plans bit cold and wet but sun was out .
Right edge was caster and chopped worm with worm on the hook left edge was meat over meat with a bit more meat and infront was pellet over pellet nice and simple at the all in fed my lines and went down the middle on pellet had a skimmer 2nd drop then foul hooked a roach but they all count πŸ˜‚then a carp then a skimmer then a carp and another carp they just kept coming between 4 to 8 pound bracket lovely so by 11 am I guessed I had 30 pound in the net I could hear Jon fuidge having a grumble (nothing new there)πŸ˜‚
Then it slowed up but I carried on this line plucking the odd fish out slow and steady. At 12 had a drop on the worm and caster line one missed bite then an eel. Tried the meat down the left nothing so kept feeding all the lines went on the pellet just plucking the odd fish out but at no speed. Felt every time I hooked one they would spook and take a while to come back. Then the wind changed banging into my corner felt cold but hoped it would help me I had a nice lil run of 3 on the meat line. Buy this time I guessed I had 60 pound in the net and didn't no what net limit was so legged it to get another net and my estimates are rubbish !!!!came back had two more on the meat and struggled again so back to the pellet switched between these two lines for the rest of the match just taking odd fish lost a couple of foul hookers and one shot off just before the horn was playing it for about 20 mins with arm ache and then the hook pulled 😑😑oh well hope I've done enough. Packed up pretty quick and caught up with the weigh the other side everyone asking what I had I said 70 to 80 but not sure finally got to me last but not least the best weight was 89 pound I really didn't think I had that but my silvers went 4.04 and my carp went 105.13 for total of 110.01 awesome couldn't believe it first ton of the year and a nice start to series 😊😊🐟🐟heres the weigh sheet
And here's the results and here's my lil envelope  Dominic Sullivan has got the picture of me and part of my winning bag you can see it on his blog caught short when he does it.
Thanks for reading hope u all had a good weekend πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŸπŸŸπŸŸπŸŸπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

Acorn evening match 2

Needed to try again after getting battered last week!!
So got to the fishery and paul Nichols was being cruel to some maggots so I decided to follow suit with the kettle and half a pint of mixed !!! No sam Johnson this week or lee Phillips so I asked Ivan currie if he wanted a pound. Mark Bartlett didn't fish this week but turned up at the draw I pulled out peg 7 ment nothing to me but spoke to Mark who was quite helpful. Plan was fish across with dead mag or worm over gb. Bottom of far shelf with expander and right and left edge.

There was a match on in the day before ours and the winning weight was 80 pound odd. At the all in didn't do a lot I put 6 expanders in the cad pot one on the hook and went in bottom of far shelf. No bites were fourth coming but while I was waiting fed the edge by hand and were signs of fish there straight away thought I would leave it to try over tight let them gain confidence. After a missed bite then a hook pull I finally had one in the net I picked of two others across but was taking too long Ivan currie was heading off for another net and every time I looked left could see paul Nichols elastic stretching !!! There were fish cruising all over the place they were not shy even coming right up to my keep net so I dropped an expander in front of one and it ripped off. Lovely 😊 then time for the edge  first drop and I'm in played it gently on the white hydro feeding the edge whilst playing the fish had a nice little run of fish from there then they became quite finicky so for the rest of the match mugged a few more had 1 or two from across and down my right edge scraped one out of the left edge also!! It was now getting dark and Toby arrived to do the weighing he was ment to be fishing but child care issues!!! Any way Ivan on the golden peg this week weighed 3 oz under a ton I haven't got that so I'm down a pound 😱again !!!!! I weighed in 53 pound so an improvement from last week but know where near enough as the place has fished crazy with winner had 145 pound ish and the top 4 all over a ton Ivan was 5th with 99 pound  then I was 6th only beating 2 so not great but better than last week getting there hopefully!!!!on Sunday it's the 1st round of sedges top kit series hope for some good draws that I can mess up!!! Or start getting some better results under my belt again πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£

Acorn evening match

Well didn't know I was gonna fish this match till lunch time so scrambled home got my kit and headed to the fishery. I've never fished it before but looked really good.into the draw I've pulled peg 12 didn't mean anything to me but it was a corner and had a nice edge either side and across was about 13.5m . I could see mark Bartlett to my right on 10 and just about see paul Nichols to my left on 17. Everyone else was a bit blurry!!! It all was a big rush from then on I scrambled 2 rigs together plumbed up sorted some bait gb pellets and paste.at the all in pinged a pouch full across and to my far right under the bush and potted in some gb to my left went across and was getting liners so persevered then finally had 1 around 5 pound by this time which took a while mark had 3 and snapped a top 3!!! So I was doing well looking at my left edge I can see paul Nichols elastic out he looked to be having a few !!! My left edge started showing sign of fish but I left it for 5 mins to try the far right float buried and I hoiked a tiny carp out around 5oz oh dear so down the left edge was solid with fish so went in on the paste hooked one got it in about 2 pound still fish there so in again but from then on got plagued with liners foul hookers and this happened on all the lines. The rig wasn't right the way I fed wasn't right and I wasn't right😑😑😑😑mark was emptying the place now and every time I looked left paul was in I was stuck in the middle scratching my head. I've scratched out 2 more fish for a pathetic weight of 10 pound something very embarrassing!!!! My peg was solid I know what to do next time but should of changed things. But being a short match I didn't silly me !!! So was a proper calamity but still met some new faces had a hot dog and a gold very nice and sped home in disappointment no pics this blog as everything was so rushed. Had to give Lee Phillips a nugget I've only fished with him 3 times and he's took 3 quid off me 😫😫😫😫also had to give another to the ginger ninja Sam Johnson who also bashed me up saying he had 25 pound but had 50 odd.so back to the drawing board on that one lol πŸ˜‚ thanks for reading think I'm gonna take up golf or get a gun!!!

Shiplate main lake open (mon)

Today I managed to book on the shiplate open which was full with 19 anglers. Venue regulars steve Howell and golly were in attendance as usual and the banter was top notch from the off. The lake fished a little hard the day before so was not expecting great weights a good draw would be needed.
I managed to be first in the bucket and pulled out peg 2  I've never been on this peg but fancied it for a few
I had lots of reachable island but with the levels down was not enough water there πŸ™πŸ™ for the 1st hour I've gone in gently just cad potting in a lil pellet and corn in spots across but with no bites thought I'd chuck the bomb to the far right of island near the rope. I had Pete sivel on 1 so good company and banter there and he said was time for a brew!!! So I poured one and the tips flown round nice scrappy for pounder. Then nothing. I fed a bit of worm and 4mm at top 6 so thought I would have a look on this 2nd drop and it's buried nice little skimmer 1 pound 2 oz I know this because this was the only fish off this line and my only silver. Pete in peg 1 was catching steady on the tip and I couldn't get a bite anywhere so I phoned titch because he was in the peg the day before and had a few he gave me some info and I did that re plumbed an area and went in on the paste fired some pellet in catty and it buried heading for Pete under the rope but I got it in eventually. Nice carp around 6 pound. But wind picked up a bit and weather went strange so struggled to present the bait over there properly now. Kept trying the edges but got ducked geesed and then the mother of all strange birds started having a bath and splash in my left margin and then proceeded to laugh at me bloody thing !!!!😑😑what am I gonna do bout 45 mins left and I've struggled all day I set up a small online gb feeder put some soaked 4mm and strawberry corn in with s corn on hook and chucked it to the far right again poured a brew and it's ripped round lovely Pete even give me a clap 20 mins left and it's gone again come on finish on high !!! Then I had to wait 5 mins left and re chucked saying pls go round pls go round the all out was called picked up the rod and there was fish on bargain thought it was fouled so played it gently but it was in the mouth lovely.
Didn't no what else had gone on but thought the whole lake had fished hard as Dominic Sullivan had chipped off early and I could hear some moaning from the left the scales reached me and firstly I asked how lee Phillips had done and steve Howell as we had a pound on it and those to were last seen sprinting to 14b and 15 πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ lee had 34 pound and steve had 20 well I've done steve so that's a pound cheers bud I said to carol il be close with lee and I was 32 pound twice he's done me at shiplate well done mate !! Jonny page also tipped back and made a sharp exit and give me a nugget πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ so I've came 5th out of 19 not too bad I feel my peg was worth more probably should of framed needed two more carp as 3rd had 42 pound Pete won the match with 107 pound I think well done to all and I nice day out thanks for reading until next time tight lines πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŸπŸŸπŸŸπŸŸπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

The glebe golden reel qualifier

Well set off at 530 am for this one linked up with the bait tech bagger tom downing on the m5 eventually!!
Weather looked nice sunshine bits of cloud and slight breeze. Got to the fishery and first job is dip the nets and once dipped you get a lil ticket to say you have dipped you cannot draw without doing what a great idea !!!
Lots of chat and dreaming of a flyer nice end peg would do. Top anglers there again local Preston master Andy power Jamie Hughes perry stone and many more!!!
Into the draw and I've pulled out 102 lake 7 fishery owner Roy marlow said it's a safe peg always a few there!!!
Got to the peg pretty much middle of the lake and yes that is a carp cruising. But he soon buggered off !!!so feeder to far bank and a bomb set up just in case. Pole line at 14.5 m in front with pellet on the deck and shallow. Had 2 edge lines one either side and a caster line at top 5. Felt quite crammed in had anglers either side and Andy power 2 pegs to the right !!! At the all in chucked the feeder out and then fed my pole lines which   you are allowed to do here strange πŸ€”!!  But oh well crack on few chucks of the feeder and it's gone round only to wind in a bream around a pound (not what I was after) anyway back out and it went again better bream getting on for 3 pound but still not what I wanted when the pegs either side have a had a carp each. Gone out again and another good bream around 3 pound.then it went quite so went out on the long pole  float buried gently back and a small carp 2 pound straight back out and another one then another come on I thought but as quick as it started it died just getting liners. So went shallow had another 3 fish then that died. So I kept pinging pellets long and fishing it there is a no slapping rule here also!!from the off I was feeding caster at top 5 by hand pretty constantly so thought I'd have a look on that started on the bottom but one bite saw me catch the smallest perch ever 😭πŸ˜ͺso went shallow no indications so went down right hand edge on the paste had 1 straight away thought hopefully we can have a few here !!!! Went down the left had one there all small fish tho none over 4 pound!!then no more indications down the edge.. so rest of the match went scratching around picking out odd fish of the lines. Think I've tried too much should of stayed on long pole as Andy power looked to be doing well on it. At the all out was quite glad it was over but struggled and I got battered by either side of me bloke to the left had 60 pound bloke to my right had 80 pound Andy p had 119 pound but the best weights were off the end pegs either end!!! So had a lil chat with mr power quizzing him a bit!! Tipped my nets back estimated 30 odd pound know where near enough. But I've had a nice day learning a bit for next time and getting about a bit worst part of the day giving tom downing a pound πŸ˜‚ and driving home. Back to some more local matches hopefully get the confidence back up may do some more qualifiers but may just leave them for this year we shall see!!!!
Thanks for reading hope everyone had a good one πŸ˜ƒπŸŸπŸŸπŸŸπŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£
